Drops are very thick but work good. I use a pair of pliers to squeeze them out!

How I conquored MAJOR ear drops and stopped the itch
If you are reading this, you likely know that these drops are cheap compared to Debrox and that they are also too thick (like honey) to use with any precision. But they can be made to work as well as Debrox! Two years ago, I bought several bottles because of the price and because I have to clean my ears once a month as per my doctor since I have been blessed with a wax production gone wild gene. I had to use a pair of pliers to squeeze the bottle and of course there was no way to know the quantity I was getting in there. So, I put those bottles in the fridge and forgot them then went back to Debrox. With Debrox, I again could not 'count' the drops so it was a guessing game with a lot of wasted medicine. -Two years later: So yesterday I started to order more Debrox and instead decided to master the MAJOR problems and use the proper amount and save lots of money. I have always been a great personal problem solver. Here is what I ended up doing: -Heat the drops bottle up with a small electric heater (less than $20) by setting the bottle on its box in front of the heater, lowest heat and carefully check the temp by feel and shake the bottle often to distribute the heat. Carefully, a few min. -Remove the spout of the bottle (you can also do this with Debrox and use an eye dropper to get the measure right) by pushing the tip to the side a few times from different sides. It will pop right out. Discard it. If you use Debrox, you have to reinstall the spout after withdrawing the med into an eye dropper to cap it. The MAJORS will cap without the spout. -Now you have a big hole to work with. Use a standard eye-dropper to suck up about 1/4" of from the bottle when it is warmed up. Some practice a few times make this very easy to do. I counted the drops in the eye dropper by dropping them back into the bottle to arrive at the '10'. An approx but it does not have to be exact. 5 to 10 is good. Then made a mental note of the liquid level on the glass. Anything between 5 and 10 drops is OK, I prefer about 10. Now I can use the right amount and thus save money. -Put into one ear and keep head leaning sideways for 10 min, then plug with cotton and do the other ear. Let sit for 3 hrs. -Twice per day for as long as 4 days if needed. -I got a cheap USB otoscope (Amazon) foe use with my PC about $20 so I can see what I am doing and when enough is enough. -After 2 or 3 days, I then wash out each ear with a big heavy-duty (RiteAid brand) Ear Syringe. The tiny soft ones lack having enough pressure to do a good job. -I fill it with warm water from the sink tap and lean over a sink which has a little water sitting in it so I can see what comes out. Usually takes two times. Note: My ears used to itch so bad I could hardly stand it, and I used hydrogen peroxide to clean them. Had to do it every week sometimes to control the itch. Finally, I saw a proper ear doctor and she told me that my ears itched because of the hydrogen peroxide! In fact, the first thing she asked me was if I used Hy Per in my ears, and when I said 'yes', she said, 'that's why your ears itch'. Imagine that! So I stopped using it and went a year before I had any itching again, and that was from tons of wax. -Hydrogen Peroxide made me itch insanely! You might want to try this if it rings any bells. -Hope this helps someone.

Good active ingredient, difficult squeeze bottle
I like the active ingredient carbamide peroxide but getting even 3 drops out the bottle is almost impossible. It's recommended to use 5-10 drops. My solution to a difficult bottle.. Remove the nozzle on the bottle and use a glass eye dropper. I use the one that came with another brand for ear application. The nozzle makes the gel barely come out...so with a glass eye dropper you can see the amount your putting in your ear. Mfg should go with eye droppers instead of redic squeeze bottles of they want a better product.
