A high quality grip trainer, which one to start with?
These are the grip trainers to buy. The question is: where to start. I chose to start with the Sport gripper. I'm just about to turn 70, but I work out at the YMCA 3X per week, mainly using the weight machines, and of late I've been doing "dead hangs" around 30-40 seconds. I would say I'm reasonably fit for my age. The Sport was the perfect place for me to start. I can do a couple sets of 10 reps closing it all the way except for the last couple reps. IMHO, one needs to be careful and not overdo it, because it is easy to injure yourself. If you're having trouble closing it, don't force it, take a step down to a gripper you can close for reps. Give yourself a day or two to recover, then repeat. Slow and steady progression is the key. I think I'll be to the point where i want to start to try the Trainer gripper in a couple months. Hopefully working with these grippers to develop strength will work in synergy with the dead hang to develop endurance.

It is what it is and does what it does
There's not a lot to say about this product except that it does what it's meant to do very well. There aren't a lot of bells and whistles. You just squeeze it until you feel the burn, and then you keep squeezing it until you can't anymore. I will say that, when looking into this before buying it, I did find some people online who talked about how you're actually supposed to position it in your hand when you use it. Just picking it up and squeezing isn't necessarily the most efficient way to use it. So, bear that in mind. The knurling (the texture on the handles) can feel a bit rough if you have sensitive skin like I do, but it's probably helpful in toughing up one's palms. Really, though, it's a simple product that does what it's supposed to do. What else could you want?

Works well but handles too sharp
Product works well but I had to lightly sand the grips with 400 paper after getting an aluminum sliver in my pinky plus overall wear and tear on my hands. Maybe gloves are recommended but that would seem to make them more awkward to use. I downloaded but havenโt fully read the manual, I would have preferred a printed manual included with the product. Maybe because I have smallish hands I have to position the product in my hand so that the handle doesnโt bruise the heel of my hand, and if they opened much further the grip reach would be too much for me. It did start making a squeak sound but I cured that with a shot of cleaner/lubricant spray.

Challenging grip work, seems sturdy
My mate got these. He can do the all three although the last one is challenging for him so it is worth it for him as he got them to improve his grip strength. As for me, I can do the lightest one and so I too am working on my grip strength. These are made of metal and seem quite sturdy to me.

Surprisingly well made for today's world of junk
Very well made. I will post another review after I determine how durable the grips are. I suspect they will last a very long time. Choosing a starting poundage was the problem. I'm about 150 lbs., and a senior. I perform calisthenics every day but no weights. I purchased the 100 lb. "Trainer" first and that was a little too difficult. I could close it but with what I thought was too much strain. I went for the 80 lb. "Sport" and that is just right: not too hard and not too easy. I can can close them, so the hand movement is complete, and I think that is important. I did about 3 sets of 10 reps, today, probably more, and felt enough strain to make it worth doing. Even if it only takes a short time to move up to the Trainer, I think it's better for the body to work slowly into the next level of exercise. I would recommend using CofC grippers. Let's see how they last. The knurled handle is not as bad on the hands as some reviewers said. If you're moving the gripper around in your hand, I can see the problem occurring; but that sounds like bad technique.

Mighty Grip Improvement
I appreciated the in-text recommendations for which one someone should buy. I think I got the right one for me. Between this and farmer's carries, this has improved my gripping ability for wrestling. It is much harder now for my opponents to fight my grip than it was before I bought this.

Excellent Gripper.
Bought the CoC Sport hand gripper, as a high repetition / warm up tool. Excellent quality, with enough tension to challenge most people not used to grip / weight training. The great thing about the CoC range, is that you can progress quickly, once you have improved your grip strength on a particular gripper, there is always the next gripper in the range, should you wish to progress. Not cheap, but whether you just want to improve your hand grip strength a little, or you wish to build massive grip strength, for powerlifting or strongman, I highly recommend the Captain's of Crush hand gripper range.
