Good quality given the price point - whether you're listening to speech or music...
My partner listens to a lot of podcasts and You Tube via his tablet using headphones. Until I gave him these Soundmagic ES30 Wired Headphones, the ones he was using were in-ear wireless ones. I don't think he was over impressed by the pink colour as an unreconstructed sort of bloke - but it is a very pale pink teamed with rose gold. 'See it as flesh colour', I said. Anyway, first impressions are notoriously wrong sometimes - and since he got these Soundmagic wired buds, he's hardly had them out of his ears. What impressed him the most? - The sound quality and general sharpness of tone. The bass is decent when listening to music too. And, importantly, they are noise cancelling so any background noise is minimised. From my point of view, these work better too than his wireless buds as I'm not noticing so much of that annoying 'crackling' sound you hear when someone else is listening via headphones. So it's a win-win. Lightweight, the build quality is good and they feel comfortable to wear even for long periods. They come with spare silicone buds and a handy black drawstring storage bag. Well priced given the quality, also worth a mention is the packaging which looks very good - perfect for gifting. 'They'd make a good gift for Peppa Pig, wouldn't they?' my partner remarked. 'I mean, being so flesh toned'.

A pleasant bass that isn't deep, but is comfortable to listen to but best used with an equaliser...
These USB-C earphones come in a printed box and inside you’ll find the earphones, rubber ear covers, and a USB to USB-C cable. Inserting the ear buds in my ears and they went in with no issue and they held in my ears even with vigorous movement of my head. They do go quite deep into the ear, which I like, as you usually get a little more bass due to a better seal inside your ears. There are included rubber covers so you can get the right fitment for your ear canal size, but I was fine with the fitted ones out of the box. They do lessen the outside noise, but only by a little bit, so if you need to hear what’s going on around you, these are perfect. There is enough sound isolation though that you can enjoy your music and not be too distracted with outside noise. I use Amazon Music with Ultra-HD quality and I tried a few tunes out with various genres to see what range these headphones have. All the tracks I listened to was with ultra-HD quality enabled. The first impressions were that there wasn’t a lot of bass which I always find disappointing. After a few minutes though, the bass started to kick in, so I think the ear bud covers just needed a minute or two to seal in my ears. The bass isn’t overpowering so if you’re after deep bass, these won’t be for you. The bass is reasonable and gave a comfortable listening experience as the bass wasn’t overpowering and after about 10 minutes, my ears had got used to it and the bass sounded like it was more than enough and was kicking in giving the music a lovely, soft bass tone. I did have to use the equaliser in the Amazon Music app to raise the deep bass levels though and this brought the bass up and was quite a nice bass level. Lightly pressing the ear buds deeper into my ears and the bass stayed the same so the ear buds do a good job of sealing themselves in your ear to get the most bass out of them. Clarity was nice with some nice clean sounding voice tones, even at high pitch, with no distortion. Even on full volume, I didn’t get any distortion, but I only listened to it on full volume for a brief 3-5 seconds as it was extremely loud and was too loud for my ears, so they have a decent volume to them. In conclusion. I think these are a good set of earphones for this price range. The bass is there but you do need to use an equaliser to get it, but they are more than capable of producing a pleasing bass level which goes reasonably deep but not overly deep so if you’re after a bass to shake your eyeballs, you won’t find it with these. What you do find is a comfortable bass which is more than enough for comfortable listening with most genres of music. I’m quite impressed for the price, and I can’t fault them at this price point.

Light, comfortable.
I appreciate that these lie at the budget end of the soundmagic range but in market place saturated with options they have left me wanting more. In essence they’re no nonsense wired in the ear buds without the faff of mics and controls. Sound wise (IMO) I find them a little light and tinny and needing a touch more bass. On plus side they are very light and comfortable to wear. I’ll give to my daughter - I won’t cry when she loses them

Headphones only
I'm not sure why the blue pair have the microphone, and volume control in line, and the pink set don't, but I like the design, and the build quality of these earphones, and they are perfect if you just want to just listen to your music. I ordered the pink audio only set, because they were the only ones available, and I have to say that I think the majority of buyers are going to miss the microphone, which is available on the blue pair for just a few pounds extra. Sound quality is first class, and a great deal better than I was expecting. I also like the cord on these, which seems to be a lot stronger than on other pairs of wired earphones. So, I am really pleased with these, but a little disappointed they have no microphone, because now I have to carry two sets of earphones around with me, these purely for music, and a cheaper set for making, and receiving calls.

Don’t work!
I connected them to my laptop (MAC) and they were completely useless. The sound was coming out only from my laptop. Had to throw them away :(

Sounds massively better that they look. Worth checking out.
A first glance these look like a standard pair of "basic, low-cost earphones". However, do not be fooled. They are lightweight and easy to wear. Comfortable with a range of different rubber ear fittings. Come in a range of colors. Mine are pink. They come with a little carry bag which is nice to touch. This stops them from getting lost or tangled in your stuff. Attention to detail is great. The noise isolation is extremely impressive. You are very much immersed in your music or sound. They really have a lively kick about them. I am serious impress with them. Clear and strong bass. They dont look like a killer pair of ear phones but they really are. Definely recommended. For in-ear I normally go for Sony Wired, and while generally good. Some models have been average. Well, plug these into my Macbook, iPhone, and MP3plays. They produce a really lovely deep rich sound. A really great immersive experiecne.

Generic, average quality headphones
Good for basic use and if you're on a budget but there are definitely better quality earphones out there.

Great earbuds THAT FIT for a crazy low price!
I'm sold on these earbuds, and as long as I can find them somewhere, I'll keep buying them. Quality of manufacture, sound, and fit are all excellent, far better than most you'd get for this price. I highly recommend!

so irritating, so Very irritating
Those of you who are into the unboxing experience, those of you who go in for cute in a big way (I am assuming there is some overlap in these groups) will really like these. They look like they ought to be sold in the Disney store, in the little mermaid section. Enjoy it, because when you go to set these up you are in for an experience. It took me about a day and a half ro get these working. It is the only set of ear buds where I had difficulty to get them to pair with one another. (note: I have tried around 30 sets over the past couple of years). I did, I think, 7 rests, and cleared the memory on my FIIO, then went to my phone, ibid. There is no indicator that the ear buds are paired, and the manua makes it look like you need you phone in the center (or getting the 2 to pair) which makes no sense. I tried it both ways. I tried it every which way. After my 7th reset I did manage to get the 2 paired. Before that both devices paired with each bud individually. The sound was not good.... sooooo I kept trying and finally, finally got the 2 paired with each other, and with my FIIO (but not my phone). For music you need to pair with the headphone symbol. For calls, with the bt symbol). On my phone when I paired the second (right) earbud using the bt symbol/ icon it shut off the left ear bud. If you want to use one bud at a time, no worries. That is easy to do. Both buds paired with each other and with your source is not so easy. Is it worth it? Not really. Not unless you must have, need to carry a clam shell case. I mean, a case which looks like a clam shell, but is not hinged (like a clamshell case). The tuning is not exactly neutral. Like one or two other pair I tried it is tipped towards the high end. It is unusual in that the mids are very good, and you can hear individual instruments, even individual guitar strings. You can get nice clarity in the high end, BUT the high end can also be brassy or screechy. It is tiresome to listen to for a long time. There is noise when the music is off, and frequent static when it is on. I initially thought they sounded like an AM radio but after burn in that went away, on most tracks. It still tips high. Bass heads will hate these. There are points where the sound is quite nice, but others where it is only tolerable, and then for a short time. and it is such an ordeal to get these set up.... that I have to say why? In the price range you will get better sound from (I can think of a dozen brands off hand) but would recommend Altec Lansing, HTC, Jabra (65t or elite 3,) Edifier, QHQO, Cowin, Haylou, 1more (a little more expensive).... and probably JBL and one or more from Sony (which I have not tried, as ear buds). They are among the smaller and more comfortable ear buds, but touch Altec Lansing for either comfort or fit. They are closer to tinybuds in both fit and sound. Before I get carried away with comparisons, and for those not interested n reading a novella: Professionally presented: 5 stars for packaging and case design (for some, especially younger girls) Comfort/ fit: 4 stars Audio quality: 4 stars (variable). Good clarity and precision but highs can be brassy or tinny, bass buzzes even at low volume. More susceptible to interference than any I have tried. background noise/ static. AptX does elevate sound quality. Sound stage : meh not much in the way of localization in space. Ease of use: 2 stars...maybe 1 (pairing an ordeal, way too many things coded on each, touch and hold .5-3 seconds, tap one two or 3 times, l or r. Realistically too much to remember.) Accessories: 4 stars: cute case but not as useful as Cowin's (which is also a battery bank) and not as much info as 1 more or haylou. A wise man (my son) once told me, 'if they are spending money on one thing, that's money they are not spending on something else'. Clearly a lot of time/money/energy went into the case and the box, and less into audio quality. Still, audio quality is better than average but IMO there are better choices.

Faulty!
Do not buy this product!!!! This is the second pair I’ve had that has stopped working. With my first pair, the left side would not charge. With this second pair the right side will not pair. I have tried getting a refund with no help from either Amazon or SoundMagic.
