If you follow it then sizing should be correct. Length is outside length from waist to ankle. I have two teens who are 6' 2" with small waists. They wash and hold up well. While it has a solid waist band, there is elastic attached inside to help it fit better.

These pants fit very well and look great!I held off on one star because the waste latches are a little loose and I had to sew in an extra snap and snug the latches up.

Exquisite pant! The material is heavy-weight and drapes beautifully. Yes, you had better have a "svelt" figure (think ice skater) or they aren't going to fit. The front crease is sewn; side ribbons beautiful. Awesome pant!

Good pants, I like that the length was a bit long so I could hem accordingly. They also held up very well in the wash.
