The wicks are too thin and don’t stay lit.
The wooden wicks are paper thin and burn up without sustaining the lit candle. Disappointing, we made beautiful candles and can only use them on an electronic candle warmer. The metal tool and pieces are great though.

They don’t stay lit
They don’t stay lit. I have 15 candles that are basically useless. Really annoyed because that a lot of soy wax, fragrance oil, & expensive candle jars, and so it’s all wasted because of these CRAPPY. CRAPPY. “wicks.”

WORST. THINGS. EVER. Do not waste your money.
Cheap garbage. Won't stay lit, burns themselves out seconds after they're lit. A total waste! Ruined all my candles. I've wasted time, money and wax on these. Better to use toothpicks instead.

Doesn't burn well or stay lit.
These wooden wicks seemed exciting to try out, but in reality left a lot to be desired. The bad:The wood pieces are very thin, and rip when placed into the holders. I have to use a nail file to hold the holders open enough to get one of these wood strips into it.These don't want to stay lit when just one is used in a candle- it burns down very quickly, then creates a small pool of wax that drowns out the flame. I used a 3 to 1 ratio of soy and beeswax in my candles. The good:They smell simply wonderful when burning, and the scent of the wicks burning works well with the essential oil scents I use- very earthy.I don't have to worry about letting wax cool enough to pour into the candle holders with wooden wicks. I don't care for using waxed cotton string wicks because of this reason. The holders clamp quite tightly, so when a wick is in one, it doesn't come out easily. Pouring hot wax doesn't disrupt the positioning of the wick. The sticky dots included with these wicks are very strong, and don't budge out of place when stuck into the candle tins or pouring hot wax. They look very cool, unlit or lit!The snippers included with this set are very strong, and work well to trim the wicks.Despite the setback, I'm not giving up on these wicks. I will try soaking in oil, soaking in melted wax, and doubling them up, to see if any method works to help these burn more evenly and reliably, and return to update the review and (hopefully) change my rating.100 pcs 5.1 X 0.51in Smokeless Wooden Wicks with Iron Stand & Candle Wick Trimmer& Candle Wick Stickers for Candle Making

Not good for Hanukkah menorahs
I was looking forward to using these wicks in my oil Hanukkah menorah. I thought that they would stand up straighter than cloth wicks and burn better. I have been disappointed. The metal clip that holds the wood wick did fit into the glass container that holds the oil, and the wicks were very easy to trim to size with the included tool or with a scissors. There was plenty of room to pour the oil into the cup. First, I couldn't use a wood wick in one of the cups (the shamas) to light the other wicks without losing most of the oil. Second, the part of wick that stick out over the oil burns very quickly and then often goes out. I tried saturating the wood with oil before trimming it. That didn't help much. I also tried having it stick out less above the oil. Again, not much help. I did actually manage to get these wicks to burn in the cups for the required time, but it always required relighting and I couldn't do it without getting covered in oil. So, I recommend sticking with regular wicks.

Wood wicks are just better.
Like another review mentioned, these wicks are great and especially easy to work with. No need to rig up some shoddy contraption to suspend wicks while you pour as these stand up on their own. Plus, wood wicks are just cooler. They burn with a slight crackle and add a novelty that takes your homemade candle up a notch. Very happy with these.

Pleasantly surprised, great quality!
I was nervous to review these as I had seen others on amazon that did not get very good reviews. I have been wanting to make wooden wick candles though, so I decided to check these out! These aren't super thick but also are not paper thin and seemed to stand up on their own in the holders just fine! Would definitely recommend.
