How come these don’t come with a flap? They look lovely, but the flap helps keep the odour in, and I worry it’ll be a little stinky, like an open tray

I have no problems with odours as my awkward cat won't go in a used litter box so as soon as she has used it I have to change it anyway. I also have an odour neutraliser in the box and it does the trick.

Cats like privacy so yes. Regards to placement, they only thing to be concerned about is making sure their food and water are in separate areas, if their water is near the litter tray and food, they won't drink it as they think it's contaminated.
