Our stock, however, is 100% new with 5 year warranty. **Q: Does this drive use SMR (shingled magnetic recording)?** A: No the HDD is enterprise class and uses faster CMR track writing. **Q: Bogus description: the blurb for this drive refers to the wrong product : namely canvio ready 2.5 inch, please correct amazon** A: Hello, the seller will need Amazon to update the description. **Q: Title says "toshiba ... 3.5" sata", details say "interface serial attached scsi" & "the canvio ready 2.5 inch external hard drive" what is correct?** A: There are a number of description errors here 1. the model number is wrong, is for 16TB version. 2 is not SCSI but ATA, SCSI are more expensive. I suggest Amazon to sort this out with the seller until then hold. NOTE The model number is critical if you want to use it for NAS units as NAS manufacturer lists only approved drives to be used. It is a fair bit louder under heavy load than my other hard drives, but they are old and much slower and also on 3TB, so not sure if this is just how massive hard drives are these days.
