I've lived in my historic home for 23 years which has a 130 year old dirt floor cellar and steep steps to get down into the cellar. I've fought lime build up for years but resisted getting a water softener due to the space constraint (view picture) and then the thought of hauling salt down the steep stairs monthly just wasn't an option. I found the Yarna CWD24 on Amazon and it was the answer to my problems. Installation was as easy as you can get and took about 30 minutes. I spent the most time routing an extension cord to the Yarna CWD24 so I could plug it in. Best of no salt is required, so no monthly trips with bags of salt down my steep steps. I will report weekly my observations about my water quality and progress with lime scale removal. UPDATE: 10 days since I've installed my Yarna CWD24 and I've seen a big difference with my water. About 2 days in when doing my dishes I finally saw my dish detergent start producing suds or bubbles and it seems that each day there are more suds than the day before. My toilet bowls stay noticeably cleaner as does my tub. The water feels different when showering too. I'm watching the lime on a couple of my faucets to se how long before they clear up. I have noticed some flaking already. UPDATE 2: It's been another couple weeks and I've noticed two things. 1. The lime build up on my faucets are gone! I'm not sure when this happened but recently I noticed my kitchen faucet sprayer was spraying through all the nozzle openings. I usually have to clean them every two weeks with a toothpick but no more! 2. I've been replacing my old iron water pipes with PEX and cleaning the hot water heater was on the list because I could here the gurgling/bubbling when the heater started up. This is a symptom of thick lime residue in the bottom of the tank. As I finished replumbing I noticed the gurgling/bubbling had stopped. Yarna just exceeded my expectations as it dissolved the lime sediment in hot water heater. I'm totally sold on this product. 3. My interaction with Yarna customer service and follow-up is exemplary (timely and helpful). There were no issues with the product it was follow-up on my registration.

The product is neat, clean, compact and easy to install. I will write a further review later on it's performance as I just installed it on February 7, 2021. Feb 15, 2021 Took 15 minutes to install and within 2 days was noticing a vast improvement in well water quality. In less than 2 weeks the brown stains in the toilet bowls are disappearing. I was skeptical that this product would perform as described at first, but I would recommend this unit for use with any household water system. no more lugging bags of salt for me. Don't hesitate to buy this unit, you'll love it.

There are a TON of reviews on this and by and large here is mine: - Simple to install, in fact it seems almost to easy but it just is - Has reduced the hard water spotting we used to have on the chrome fixtures (not eliminate them) - Water is NOT softer, which is what they tell you. It will smooth out the structure of the mineral so it will reduce the buildup and that is the goal with this device - I didn't want a salt brine to have to deal with nor the big bags of salt and the added expense of installation - Other users, at least 94% + like the system and of course there are those who have tried it and for some reason didn't work, but the percentage is simply too high to not give it a try. - Our home is central Canada, very hard water (and added nasty chemicals), so this was installed to help add life to our hot water system and reduce the mineral deposits on the fixtures, mission accomplished there. Cons: - Power cord could be longer, perhaps a 10' cord as it's super light and takes up little space in the package

Today, Dec 12th marks one year since I installed one of these descalers. It is nothing short of amazing. It has gently over time solved our hard water scale problem completely. Buildup in our pipes had been going on for thirty years (since the house was built) and water flow to some places like showers and faucets was seriously slowing. Everything that went through our dishwasher didn't wash properly. We had to descale our kettle and coffee maker monthly and things like the glass doors in our shower were uncleanable the buildup was so bad. I was also worried about the scale on the heating element in our hot water heater and our clothes washer was covered in scale. The descaler did exactly what I hoped it would. Completely solved our problem with zero maintenance required. I was concerned that the large amount of buildup in the pipes may result in large chunks of scale breaking off and causing problems... that didn't happen. The dissolving of the buildup was so gradual there were no problems. It's just excellent. Our water continues to get better as more time passes. Absolutely one of the best things I have ever bought. Also excellent customer service as I noticed in April there was a dark spot on the outside of the descaler and I emailed the seller asking about it. They immediately sent me a replacement unit. With support like that and the ten year warranty I'm absolutely satisfied with every aspect of my purchase. All the people in my area pay much more for water softening systems and have to maintain them and buy salt (and have water that tastes salty). I'm completely sold on this unit. Absolutely fantastic. One more thing... we were all itchy because of the minerals left behind clinging to us after a shower... not anymore. Fantastic!
