Review: Instantly Beautifies Any Home While Providing Air Flow and Privacy - Noren-style Japanese curtains like this one provide privacy while allowing air flow. It's really lovely watching the curtains flutter on breezy day. This curtain's beautifully textured fabric is made of a natural fiber and its material and construction is of good quality. Its solid neutral color goes with most paint and interiors. They instantly hide cluttered rooms without closing them off, and the curtains fall at the right length to allow small pets to enter room without disturbing the curtains. They are very easy to install with an extension rod in doorways. I'm still quite happy with my purchase months later. I wish the gap between panels wasn't so wide
Review: Good quality, authentic Japanese noren, light filtering, semi private - Japanese brand, good quality noren. Allows light thru with some privacy, but keep in mind this is not opaque. You can see shadow of shape behind the curtain with strong sunlight. Do not expect block out. This is not that type of noren and should not be judged by buyers because it does completely block views. Look at all of the photos by the seller. 100% cotton. Strongly recommend ironing first. Amazes me the number of people who do not read the details on this or look up the care symbols. This is 33.5" wide. if your door frame is wider than this, clearly it won't cover the entire frame. Again look up the care symbols. NO MACHINE WASH. Hand wash only. NO DRYER. W in a circle with two horizontal lines below = Professional wet clean, it does NOT mean machine wash. Honestly, the lack of attention to detail from dissatisfied buyers on desertcart is really appalling. This may seem expensive to some, but this is not a terrible price, fairly average for import from it's country of origin lol even tho this company probably outsourced where this was made before it was sold in Japan. Probably not to far off from the price sold in there and you don't have to pay airfare to get it

## Features

- Rod is not included in this package.Proper diameter for rod is less than 0.8inch.The rod for café curtain is normally suitable for this doorway curtain.
- The split at the center starts from approximately 7inches from the top.around 7 inches are sewn and jointed from the top at the center.
- Both sides, front and backside, look same except stitching line.So it looks attractive from either side of your room.
- The average shrinkage is approximately 5%.it is washable by hand with around 30 degree hotwater.easy to keep clean.
- this doorway curtain fairly blocks the heat by limiting the ariflow from other room or space.besides it keeps your privacy and prevent excess light this is not fireproofed not possible to muffle a sound.the zipper or magnet is not attached to the center of curtains.Hope it would be great functionally, and decoratively to your room.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Slitted Fabric Portal for Pretending My Laundry Alcove Is a Kyoto Soba Shop
*by D***O on 4 September 2026*

I hung this grey textured noren curtain in my hallway doorway because looking directly at an open closet crammed with cardboard boxes, a half-broken ironing board, and unorganized winter coats was slowly chipping away at my mental peace. Putting up an actual solid wooden door would require hinges, power tools, and a level of carpentry ambition I simply do not possess on a Saturday. A split Japanese doorway tapestry offered the illusion of architectural mystery with zero renovation permits required. Threading a standard tension rod through the top pocket and watching those two fabric panels drape into place immediately beamed me back to 1997, specifically my cousin Mark’s bedroom. He had hung one of those clattering beaded doorway curtains made of lacquered bamboo tubes and painted dragons. Every time you walked into the room to play GoldenEye 007 on the Nintendo 64, that curtain sounded like a wooden maraca factory collapsing in an earthquake, frequently catching your earlobe or strangling your hoodie strings. This fabric noren, by contrast, is the pinnacle of silent, dignified entryway technology. The "slabline" weave has that slightly irregular, heavy-textured linen-and-cotton feel that hangs with serious gravity—no cheap static cling or flimsy bedsheet fluttering here. It’s opaque enough to conceal household chaos from guests, but breathable enough that the HVAC breeze still flows through without ballooning into a giant sail. The real magic is the center split. Parting those two panels with the flat of your hand as you cross the threshold instantly transforms your mundane walk to the refrigerator into a cinematic sequence. You don't feel like a guy wandering into the kitchen at 11:30 PM for a string cheese; you feel like an undercover ronin slipping into an alleyway noodle stall to trade whispered state secrets. Rating: 4.4 out of 5 stars. Heavy textured fabric, zero noisy bead tangles, and instantly elevates any messy doorway into a serene, minimalist threshold.
