Blaupunkt 8-Inch Single Voice Coil Subwoofer with 400W Power

I haven’t owned these long, but my first impression is they are a decent 8” woofer. I have them mounted in tubes I bought years ago. I have ran them with a Harmony Audio HA-A400, and it worked pretty well. I also had a Harmony HA-A800.5, so I hooked it up in the car and the subs sound better powered by the mono section of that amp. It is pushing a little over 500 watts RMS vs 300 RMS on the A400.1. However, the little A400.1 pushed these guys fine. For $30ish per unit, you can’t go wrong.

I have this installed in a custom sealed fiberglass spare tire box that is approximately the specified volume at full gain on the Lanzar Heritage mono block mosfet amplifier (AB class) and the signal coming from a line out converter patched into the rear speakers. With that setup, it perfectly mirrors with my stock non-Bose cx9 stereo and moves enough air to fill the cabin with clean bass and has not bottomed out or shown signs of failure yet.

After reading other reviews, it seems this speaker works well as a sub, but I am using it as a mid-bass, with a cut off at 2 KHz. Nice and clean sound in this range.Only issue I have is the mild steel stamped frame. Both speakers I ordered had small bends in the mounting flange, which I was able bend back into shape with my fingers. However, once mounted, no problem.This speaker is a great value, IMHO.

So I bought these for bazooka tubes. Ran one for a while. Much better sounding than the original higher end version bazooka woofer. Then I took that one out the tube and put them in the back deck of my 2004 gto. Wow! They drop low and also play good mid bass to about 120hz (probably would go higher but my door speakers handle that). Looking at the thiele/small parameters on these subs, you would assume that free air would not work well....well that’s far from the truth. These things slam hard. I’ve tried a kicker square 8”, and several 12” subs in boxes and none of them performed as well as these two 8’s. I’m writing this review because I haven’t seen anyone else mention free air. So if you can seal off your back deck well...these are a good choice of you don’t want to spend a bunch of money on subs. Highly recommended.

Just buy it, I replaced an existing sub I bought in a tube and it is worth every penny. I am impressed with the overall product and sound quality.Just don't go blasting out of the box, as with any new speaker take a few hours at low volume to break them in.

This little sub hits pretty hard in the right box. It won’t obviously play the 20 hertz notes that a larger sub would but at higher frequencies, it hits pretty hard. Great for sub replacement on factory vehicles or if you want to put it on a sealed or ported box. I’m super happy with my purchase. For the money, it’s a great buy!! Mine is installed in a 2021 tundra behind the seat, and if you know tundras, they don’t have much space to work with. This little sub fits and sounds great.

This is an amazingly great sounding little subwoofer. Handles power very well and gets loud. Works well in very small ported or sealed boxes. Sounds so good that I added a second one. Out performs some of the more popular name brands. If you’re working with just a little bit of space for a sub...this will definitely fit the bill.

I bought this subwoofer just over 2 years ago, I ran it with a Blapunkt 750 watt 2 channel amp bridged. I had it in a Skar slot port box. Today the speaker blew. For the money it was an ok subwoofer, sounded good but not great on the low bass. If you run it at 4 ohms and stay within the subs power range you can expect to get 2 years out of it.
