This is for me definitely worth the money, you have lots of settings even a wool cycle, it's quiet and easy to clean out after and has a large enough drum to dry a full wash load with ease. The downsides to this dryer are as such the one touch no longer works as you download the app to connect the dryer to be given a notification that it no longer works so that function is mute. The other downside is blankets and bedding yes the dryer will dry them nicely but you do have to shake them halfway through as they will ball up during the drying cycle, this isnt a deal breaker for me as it's a small thing to have to do but it will dry everything nicely and leave your items lovely and soft. Apart from the two downsides mentioned I do love this dryer and have been using it everyday several times a day as I have kids and a dog so I do end up with more laundry than I would like. Cleaning out this dryer is so easy the lint catcher is large and simple to clean. For me this dryer has been worth the money I spent buying it.

Stay away from this, it is in no sense of the word a dryer. We battled on with this for 11 months, it has got steadily worse, damp clothes after three hours, having to resort to hanging damp clothes in the garden to dry. It’s a total Con, today I contacted customer service who all they wanted was to sell me appliance insurance!! Never buy Hoover again !! Engineer attending next week - let’s see what happens!!!!

Great dryer. Am using it in a cold conservatory with high humidity it works fine. Vented through wall. Temperature at the moment is about 8 degrees and 80 percent humidity. Clothes dry nicely. I've not had any problems with bedsheets going into a ball. I went vented as I already have condensation problems in the house and do not want to add to it. Also we need Clothes dried fast. I've not yet figured out how to turn the rapid on. A typical cycle is about 1 to 1.5 hours. I will need rapid at some point so will read the manual . This replaced the condenser dryer. The missus reckons the vented is better its definitely faster.

I bought this as a replacement for my old 6kg drum Creda Tumble Dryer. I particularly wanted vented as I had heard poor reviews about condenser and heat pump dryers and how long they take to dry items and we already have the venting ducts in place in our utility room. The huge 10kg drum capacity means that I can now get duvets dried as well as washed saving me a fortune taking them to the dry cleaners every time. However there are far too many dryer programmes and I have found that I just use one and set my own time on the timer which dries far quicker than any of the pre set programmes. I would have given it 5 stars but for the fact that it only tumbles in one direction not forward and reverse like our old one - so large items like duvet covers do get rolled up and you have to keep taking them out and turning them round. I'm note sure how long the cheap plastic hinges on the door will last but I checked and there are plenty of places on line that you can get spares from. All in all a pretty decent machine for the price.

Vented tumble dryers are not the most energy efficient these day, but the vent for our old one was already in place, and other types of dryer seemed to suffer with condensation issues so it made sense to stick with what we knew. Also, it's a shame that there seem to be fewer built-in options these days. I wonder why that is? Anyway, although I've only had it a day I have used it four times already, so for what it's worth, this is what I have found: 1) Not particularly energy efficient, but it is a vented tumble dryer, so never going to be the most energy efficient out there. We can live with that. 2) Not very easy at first glance to decipher the various settings. No 'low, medium and high' here. We have many confusing options such as 'Small' 'XXL' 'Mix & Dry' 'One Touch' 'Sport Plus' and so on..... (see pic) I'm sure it will all make sense after studying the instructions for a year or two. I'll come back to you on that one.......... 3) On the plus side, it is a relatively compact machine, considering it is replacing a machine that was about the same physical size, yet it takes 10Kg of clothes, 2Kg more than our old one! 4) Another plus, it is much quieter than our old machine. I'm sure our neighbours three doors away will be much happier. So, in summary, for a low priced machine with a fair few features, it is well worth considering. Once I get to grips with the menu options, I'm sure I will settle on two or three regularly used settings. We have yet to try the app, but doubt that we will be using it much, if at all. Would I buy it again? Yes! Very pleased so far. Also, the seller, Crampton And Moore, were most efficient. Their delivery estimate was spot on, and their driver phoned me twenty minutes before delivery so we were all psyched up and ready for when they arrived. No issues whatsoever with the machine or the seller. Recommended!

I have only had this tumble dryer a few days and have only used it twice so far. On both occasions I used the 'Whites' setting which enables the facility of setting the dryness level to it's dryest possible setting, the first time I was a bit cautious and only filled it half full, the second time I put all that my 8kg capacity washing machine would hold(although i'm pretty sure it is much more than 8kgs) in it....The second time the load INCLUDED a bath sheet, 2 single duvet covers and 2 single fitted sheets and it dried them to bone dry without tangling them....the sensor dry function kicked in successfully on both occasions...the only thing which I would like to establish now is how long it took to dry them as I was not near it when it finished(it must have been much less than it's estimated original time)....once I know the drying cycle time I will be able to experiment with other settings to see if there is one that will dry them quicker....btw the fluff filter only had 75% of the fluff on it that my previous tumble dryer used to have which I am thinking is a good thing as the mesh is finer....the noise level is not important to me because it is situated out in my garage but it does seem reasonably quiet, slightly quieter than my last dryer....overall I'm very pleased with it so far but I will come back and ammend this review if something happens to the contrary. UPDATE: Although I have not actually seen it doing it(because it is situated out in my garage), I think it does reverse occasionally because I can hear it pause for a couple of seconds every now and again, which indicates to me that is what it is doing, I still have had no tangling issues. I have settled on only useing the 'Whites' setting with the shortest(2hrs 40mins) cycle time which always dries the washing perfectly well.

I’ve always had a vented dryer, usually another brand. This time I thought will switch to Hover, it was at a reasonable price. Looks all fancy and a 10kg drum, I previously had 7kgs, which I thought would be great as we are a family of 6. The machine is complicated to use, I’m not finding the functionality easy at all. The manual is really Bo help. So far I’ve been using it from moment of install and the drying time is taking ages compared to my previous machine. A winter blanket that my old dryer would have fully dried in 45 mins, this machine after 1.5hrs it was still patchy in areas, same with towels. I’m really disappointed and should have paid more attention to the other reviews.

Do not buy this machine. In fact, thanks to the new Ecodesign regulations the UK government has whipped up, these traditional vented dryers are officially being phased out and withdrawn from sale because they are so shockingly inefficient. Had I known that the law was changing to stop retailers from selling these obsolete, non-eco warriors, I would never have bought it in the first place. I am stuck putting up with it until it either breaks down or ends up in dryer heaven. It is easily the worst appliance I have ever owned. The usability is completely baffling, and the instruction manual may as well be written in hieroglyphics because that is exactly what the ridiculous symbols on the dial look like. As for the buttons, who on earth dreamt up that layout? It is completely counterintuitive. Then there is the "smart" app. What a total waste of time. Rubbing my smartphone up and down against the machine to use the NFC link like an idiot is not constructive, and it never connects anyway. Performance-wise, it takes absolutely ages to dry a load, and the drum only spins in one single direction. To top it all off, the (Hoover) customer service is a joke. When the rubber door seal failed, I tried to use their heavily advertised 10-year parts guarantee. I was told the seal is classed as general "wear and tear" and isn't covered. To avoid their extortionate engineer call-out fees, I had to buy the part and fix it myself. It is unbelievable the lengths these companies will go to just to rob you blind. Avoid this clearance stock at all costs. Buy a (non Hoover) modern heat pump instead.
