This set has it all. It's fun to build, it's got a bunch of useful parts, it's fun to play with and VERY pose-able, and it's super adorable!The alternate builds are both pretty fun, but the main robot build is where it's at. You can pick up the rocks, pose it balancing on one hand, adjust the eyes to get a bunch of expressions, and roll it all around! The tracked wheels are actually linked to a regular rubber wheel, meaning that the treads will spin if you move it over smooth OR rough surfaces! The light brick is integrated in unique ways for each of the three models, too, which can give some inspiration on all the different ways you can use one! The only real problem I have with the aesthetic and playability is the arm of the robot that has the light brick. That arm looks kind of stubby compared to the other one in some poses, and it doesn't articulate at the elbow at all. Not a huge problem though!As for parts, the main draw is obviously the light brick. This is a relatively inexpensive way to get one. The large number of pieces in this particular shade of blue is a huge bonus to me personally since it's one of my favorite part colors that LEGO makes, but it really isn't a super common color in general anyway. It's also a pretty good set to get if you want more of the tracks/treads. The Creator line of sets pretty much always come with a good variety of uncommon and common pieces for a relatively low price, and this one is no different in that respect.I bought this set for the parts, but honestly I don't want to take it apart! It's just so much fun to play with and pose, plus it looks adorable on display. But if you do just want the parts, it's got a lot to love!

My son and I have built all 3 sets. We love the 3 in 1 sets best because we really feel motivated to take them apart and remake them - we just don't do this with the other sets. My son is almost 4 and said this is his favorite one yet (we have mythical creatures and dinosaurs which are both really cool) - I'm thinking the light and the fact that it is a robot with lots of moving parts helps. He's been playing with the built robot models as toys - they hold up well.While I'm always fascinated by the ways Lego has utilized the same pieces in different ways - my son actually noticed the creativity in using the light as eyes, a laser, and a jet boost - it got him thinking - which is priceless right? The instructions are easy enough he's able to follow them with a bit of help (at his age he had a much easier time with the dinosaur kit though.) As we both love to build - this has provided a great opportunity for us to work together, practice teamwork, and have lots of little teaching moments. :-)My only complaint (if you could call it that) is that the other sets have a "secret" 4th model if you go online - so far this just has the 3.

Really cute lego robot for ages 6-12 with moving treads, It really does have a light that you can turn on and off so children love to play with it. Not the most impressive robot, but it does work and goes together quickly for target age group. My grandson takes his lego figures apart after building them so this is an inexpensive little robot that kept him entertained for months. With experence of putting lego figures together, six year old children can put this one together and have a lot of fun. The treads are cheaply built and will come off if you treat the robot roughly but they do work.

This set blew me away with how much it reminded me of some of the robot toys I used to have as a kid. I love the new and unique color that they gave to this robot. I love each detail on this small but very functional robot set. The wheels can be pushed and roll around with ease, the head turns, the arms turn, and the hand can actually pick things up.I really love the Lego Creator sets because they inspire creativity by giving you several different options that you can make (with or without instructions). I definitely recommend you check out this fun-sized and affordable set. :)

My 5 year old son is newly obsessed with Wall-E, and he loves legos. The actual LEGO Wall-E set is too expensive, so we got this instead. I put the robot together (with his assistance) the first time. He loved it. He made modifications and replaced parts just like in the movie. Finally he wanted to make the puppy, and surprisingly did it all on his own! Then I helped him make the robot again, and he eventually took that apart to make the bird. Finally, he built the robot all by himself on the third time. I love this set because there are 3 really cool different things you can make. So it motivates kids to take things apart and rebuild over and over. My son has played with it daily for over two months. He loves his other legos, but this is his favorite set. The light stopped working after a month, but I haven’t attempted a battery change yet.

Purchased this for my 5 year old son who enjoys building Legos. He has worked on other lego sets for ages 7+. This one was more challenging for my son to assemble. the tracks for the robot are a bit fragile. Overall it is a nice set and clear instructions to follow. I recommend this product.

It was so fun to build the robot explorer and it sits on my desk! I built this several months ago. I remember from reading the other reviews that a piece was missing so I was prepared and make sure I use the one piece I was short of to connect an important part but it did not prevent me from finishing it. This is a 3 in one kit which means I would have to take it apart and build the other two at least once each and then go back and rebuild the robot explorer again. Fun and easy to build and I don’t mine as that is what Lego is all about.
