quality I can trust
WEston has GREAT products. I also have their 1.5 HP grinder and LOVE IT since 2019 and use a LOT to make raw dog food.

Super sharp, heavy, and cuts well. Has a learning curve to use well.
The first thing I discovered on trying this saw out is that it's heavy and somewhat unwieldy for sideways or diagonal cuts. Not unsurprising, but it takes some getting used to. As with other reviewers, I found that cutting pork rib bones worked best on the back stroke at the beginning, simply because it's so sharp, you can't make progress on the forward stroke until there's a little bit of flat surface for the teeth to glide on. The other reviewers didn't mention that you have to secure the piece REALLY well or you risk your hands and fingers. I literally put the ribs in a vise to cut them. It will surely work best if you have a thigh of a beast that you can cut vertically rather than something like ribs that are too small for this big saw. Nevertheless, it's exactly what I wanted!

Excellent, if you need it
Most home cooks probably do not need this saw. It is much easier to buy exactly what one needs- asking the butcher to cut it as requested if necessary- and not have to bother oneself. I am not one of those home cooks. I AM a home cook... but we get almost all our meat from a meat CSA, and we are not really able to discuss the finer points of exactly how we'd like our beef shanks cut, for instance; we get what we get. And that's very high-quality and humanely-raised and pastured... but is sometimes not in a form that's easy to use. Like shanks and marrow bones. We get long bones; these are not most useful for cooking. Similarly with trotters. (I'll add that we specifically ask for these and the normal monthly subscription does not contain them.) This saw will make these and similar cuts SO much more useful! I am really excited! I'll add that I am an aspiring home butcher; I'm good at poultry, and am looking to try, say, a ham. And i need a saw for that. I've only given it a quick test thus far, but it seems very effective; the tricky part is to get the meat/bone held so that it can't slide around while one's sawing. I may need a vise for the kitchen, too. But- I am very pleased and excited about the opportunities I now have!

Works, but won't cut like butter
Works, but itโs no walk in the park. It won't "cut like butter". Iโm not sure what I expected. I thought it would be easy to saw some bones. Spoiler: itโs not. Itโs bloody hard work. I bought this to saw pig trotter bones for stew, thinking itโd be perfect since itโs a bone saw designed for the job. But without a vise or something to hold the bones steady, it was incredibly challenging. You need serious grip strength to keep the bone stable and even more to move the saw back and forth. Plus, you have to keep the saw perfectly straight to avoid it catching, which slows you down and forces you to reset. If youโre planning to manually saw bones, a vise or similar setup to hold the bone hands-free is a must. That way, you can focus on sawing with both hands. Was it worth the effort? Probably not. Youโre better off befriending your local butcher and asking them to cut the bones with their machines. Much easier and way less frustrating.

Bone saw.
Heavy duty, meat and bone saw.. It takes a heavy duty man to operate it though.

Very impressive meat saw.
The meat saw was well packaged. The saw is easy to use as the handle is ergonomic in design resulting in less fatigue on the wrist. The saw cuts very easily. It is sturdy and well made. The directions on box are very useful when having to remove the blade.

Not Suitable for Cutting Meat and Bones
I was disappointed with this saw. It did not perform well when cutting meat and bones, as the blade repeatedly stuck to the meat. In addition, the tool is quite heavy, making it difficult to handle and maneuver comfortably by hand. Overall, it was not practical for the intended use.
