In some recipes and for things like oatmeal/ sun butter balls and home-made granola. It’s of course great as a sweetener for hot cereal or in shakes too. Lower glycemic than all others except Erythritol and Stevia sweeteners. Has a nice flavor that is mild and will not dominate or overwhelm your recipe; good replacement for honey or maple syrup. Pricey but then so are the others. It’s organic. The consistency is similar to maple syrup. I only wish it would come in a larger jar - 12-16 ozs. I buy the 3 pack bc an 8 Oz jar does not go too far. I like this company and once when I got a two pack with one broken jar the two pack of jars was immediately replaced.. not sure if it was the company or Amazon responsible for that but I was very happy.

We used yacon syrup on our pancakes instead of maple syrup and it tasted very good. It has mild nutty taste, not too sweet and kids approve of it too, so it is double win for use. In addition, it is beneficial for you, it is high in antioxidants and potassium, it may lower your blood sugar level and helps with digestion. I am glad we bought this brand, the syrup is smooth, rich deep color, easily spreadable on pancakes and about one third the calories of sugar. I will definitely purchase more when we'll run out.

I had never heard about Yacon before. I was looking for a prebiotic and a friend mentioned it as an option. ("without going too into it" disclosure: I've been having digestion issues since my second c-section). Okay, back tot he review. I admit, I was a bit skeptical, but decided "hey why not?" I've tried many other prebiotics and none of them were for me. I ordered my first jar and told myself I'd give it a month. So glad I did. Between then and now, I've become a bit obsessed with yacon as a food source. I take 1-2 teaspoons per day and my digestion is improving. I also like how I can eat it plain (rich & pleasant taste), it has a smooth texture, and is super versatile in recipes. Other likes for me are: It's certified by the Control Union Fair Choice, is USDA Organic, 100% raw, shelf stable, and super low on the glycemic index. I haven't tried any other brands of yacon syrup, but I have no desire to. I find this product to be superior and literally checks off all my purchasing and quality product boxes.

I gave four stars for flavor simply because this is the only brand of yacon syrup I've tried, so I have no basis for comparison. That said, I really like it. I use it exclusively in my coffee and it adds a subtle sweetness and smoothness. It also dissolves completely with no residue left in cup. I ordered a single jar initially. Two weeks later I ordered the three-pack. As far as the health claims, it does seem to help with appetite suppression and regularity and I've lost a couple of pounds without any extra effort. The main thing is, it's a natural alternative to sugar that tastes good and doesn't have the nasty aftertaste of other alternatives. 8/20/20 I'm updating my original review to 5 stars as I've tried another brand (hoping to save a few pennies) and this brand is definitely superior. Other brand was very dark in color with lots of undissolved solids that formed a sludge in bottom of coffee cup. More importantly, there was zero benefit to my digestive issues. So it's back to Alovitox for me!

It's a very delicious syrup. However, I thought the price was a little high.

I have purchased this product several times and love everything about it! It tastes great with my coffee and tea and I also use it on my pancakes. I also love the way it comes in glass jars so I can use the last drop of it. In the past I had purchased other brands of yacon syrup packed in plastic bottles which I barely got to use since it dries on the bottom and it is impossible to get out. I am now subscribed to get this product on a regular basis.

Alovitox was the first yacon I tried, and so far I've found none better. Its taste and consistency is far preferable to the stratified goo that you find in most other products. It's perfect for sweetening your coffee or tea, but also works in oatmeal, and even as a substitute for pancake syrup. I've finally found a healthy prebiotic sugar substitute that doesn't leave my taste buds feeling compromised. The packaging is neat and protective. Highly recommend.

My husband discovered Yacon syrup a few months ago. He loves it! He has slimmed down nicely during that time. The flavor is excellent. He hates stevia, can't eat Xylitol and similar sweeteners, and has gained weight on Fructose and "no calorie" sweeteners like sucralose and aspartame. He has tried two other brands of Yacon, but he is very satisfied with Alovitox for both quality and value. Yacon is expensive, but Alovitox sells it at a good price.
