SCOTTeVEST Featherweight Vest for Women - 16 Hidden Pockets - Lightweight Water Repellent for Travel & More (Black, X-Large)

This was the second ScotteVest I bought. I have one in black and one in off-white. They are absolutely the best for traveling, and I have actually stopped carrying a purse on my daily travels. These are light weight so good for any weather. In winter I throw it on over a sweater and add a rain coat on top. Has plenty of pockets so I can stuff myself if I'm flying. If you stuff it, don't expect to look "slim" though. Though I wasn't uncomfortable at all when fully loaded. For daily use I carry my phone, wallet, keys, dog treats and poo bags, a mask, lip balm, pen, notepad, and a couple other small things. And I'm hands free, no purse to lose! In summer I just put it on over a blouse or t-shirt and have never been any hotter than I would have been without it. I don't wear skirts or dresses, but I don't see why this wouldn't look okay over an informal outfit. Anyway, my opinion.

I bought the vest one size larger than "my" size (an earlier reviewer suggestion) and it was perfect - you need room to put in large items and not feel confined. The biggest task is figuring out what you want to put in each pocket - it takes a bit to know what you will want in outside VS inside pockets and whether accessing pockets on the right or left side is handiest for you. As far as what I had in the vest: regular size Ipad with cords & earbuds, Cannon point & shoot camera, Iphone, Kindle Paperwhite with cords, 1.5" thick billfold (filled with credit, etc. cards),1 tissue packet, 1 antiseptic wipes packet, 4 energy bars, 8 insect repellent coil-bands in packets, a sandwich in a baggie, 1 hard eyeglasses case, several thumb drives in a case, business envelope with cash and travel papers, 2 90-day prescription pill bottles and 1 small baggie with earrings. It was a bit lumpy but comfortable to wear, let me access anything I needed during a flight, passed through TSA easily, didn't count as my carry-on or personal item because it was "clothing", and held everything I considered "important" if something happened to my other bags. It's definitely great for travel, but I'm planning to use it for shopping and local excursions since I will have far fewer items in it AND won't have to juggle a purse.

I love vests and splurged on this for travel. Pros - it is well made. It's lightweight, but added just enough warmth for a plane ride. It fit well enough and is attractive. Clearly, lots of pockets. The left side breast pocket was perfect for my phone, and I liked this feature the best. Cons. I don't like the RFID blocking pouch inside its pocket. It's awkward to get stuff in/out and the pouch/velcro add bulk. While the vest could replace my travel cross-body purse in terms of capacity, my x-body is much more functional for actually getting an ID or credit card out. The tablet pocket works but it makes the vest too heavy on that side unless you zip it up, but then you can't access any of the inside stuff. Overall, I didn't use the features very much. There's nothing wrong with the vest, but I don't think it's worth the money.

This is my second vest of this brand. You might want to size up since they seem to run small, especially if you load up the pockets. For travel it can’t be beat. No need to carry a purse or worry about pickpockets. Very well-made and designed vest.

Purchased a SCOTTeVEST Featherweight Vest for a trip to the South Pacific. Has 16 pockets. The “cement” color is a light gray-ish khaki color. Quite a neutral color. Fabric is polyester that has a soft/brushed texture. Quality of fabric, zippers, organization excellent. Have worn the vest on an outing to test it out…comfortable and not too warm. Is the company’s lightest weight vest. I’m 5’4” & weigh about 185. Purchased an XXL because I wanted a loose fit even after filling pockets. This ensures I can fully zip the vest in heavy-pickpocket tourist areas. Cost $174. Heavily researched travel vest companies & feel the light weight of this vest & organization are the best with SCOTTeVEST. On this trip, have total of seven legs involving four airlines (American, Quantas, Air NZ, Fiji Airways). Looking forward to using this vest to lessen stress at TSA areas & for luggage weight restrictions.

Fit was as expected. I normally wear a medium and the medium fit perfectly. Love this item for travel. So many well designed and useful pockets it is perfect for travel. But I also use the vest for running errands. It holds everything I need and makes shopping hands free! I love that. It is also my "go to" for dog training. When training a puppy I keep it on all day, various treats, leashes, collars, clicker, whistle, cleanup bags, etc., are always handy. I purchased the light tan color and it does tend to get a little dirty when dog training. Just toss it in the wash on cold/delicate, then to the dryer on delicate and it comes out like new. I'm pretty sure I'll be purchasing another in a darker color. I highly recommend.

Product description claims there are 16 pockets. I only used 6 large pockets and 2 small pockets for pens. I found 1 tiny pocket hidden within the large pockets which I found useless and the rest must be very well hidden... I couldn't find them. My pens kept falling out of the designated pockets. I tried to put my kindle in the inside large pocket, but the vest sagged because it was too heavy. Nevertheless, I like the 6 large pockets which was sufficient for stuff that I would normally put in my purse. The very large pocket came in handy for documents. I liked the right side passport pocket, although I didn't use the "protective" pouch inside. I used the other 4 large pockets for medications and other stuff that I needed to use during the flight. I recently flew on an airline which allowed only ONE carry on...whether that be a purse or a laptap bag or a carry one size suitcase. The vest solved this issue for me, as the vest functioned as a purse .. I look like I had a big tummy, but I was able to spread the contents all over my upper body so that it didn't look too bad. It is also perfect for when you are sitting where there are no seats infront of you and you must stow all your stuff in the overhead bins during take off and landing. You'll still have easy access to everything you need during the flight (in your vest on your body). As far as sizing goes, I normally wear a medium, but I ordered a large. The large size was perfect especially because I put the vest over my sweatshirt and a fleece jacket. The vest is not perfect, but it is the best travelling vest I found... I'm happy with this purchase.

So, based on the reviews here and the product site, many say size up. Well I did, got the vest today and it's huge. So I have to dash to UPS to return this so my Amazon credit will show up so I can reorder today. I did not see a sizing chart on Amazon so I had to go to the Scotte site to view. I would say go by that. Product description says its featherweight, yes and no. But I like it. I'll enjoy it when I get the right size. Very good quality. Scotte has this vest on sale today. You still have to pay tax and shipping but I'd save about $25 bucks. But I need it fast and Amazon is there for Prime members. Much appreciated.
