Got this from a friend and it is all in japanese and dont have any living near me now. what are the 3 buttons for. havent used it yet any help

I wish I can help you. The 4 cups rice cooker that I have ordered only comes with one button. Above the button there's 2 small lights ( a small red light for "rice cooking" and the other is "keep warm"

Has anyone cooked brown rice in this? How does it turn out?

I found a trick to cooking brown rice. No presoaking. Just add one additional cup of water to the pot. It extends the cooking time and does the trick! Example: BROWN RICE ONLY 3 cups dry rice use 4cups water. 4 cups dry rice use 5cups water.
