Used less than 12 times. Screws came loose. Assembly came apart.
I did not buy this item on Amazon but it's the same model number. I've used this sander less than a dozen times. There are four screws holding the orbital part in place on the underside of the circular sanding surface. Due to vibrations, the screws have all come loose. I tried tightening them but the screws would come loose again and again. When one screw came out they all came out - and the entire bottom of the sander started to gyrate strangely. If you were to pick it up at this time, with the motor still running, all four screws would come shooting out and the entire rounded assembly would fall apart in a dramatic fashion. Upon closer inspection, the plate that the screws go into are made of a soft metal - presumably aluminum. I can see that the threads have been worn from the vibration of the sander and the screws no longer fit into the holes. With no way to put the sander back together; I can say that I've wasted my money. I have placed a call into the warranty dept. Will update if they get back to me. Except for the whole - falling apart and no longer working thing - it was a nice sander and I got one job completed just by sanding and then reassembling - then sanding a bit more again. Really can't recommend this one.Update: I called the warranty department and of course the replacement parts were close enough in price to warrant the purchase of another sander entirely. They did have good customer service in Canada. They returned my call promptly. Even the French-accented representative on the other end admitted that buying a brand new one would be a better idea. Particularly because I could not find the receipt for the item; otherwise I might have gotten a replacement for free. To tell the truth, with this kind of engineering, I'd be hard pressed to purchase the exact same model again. It's a shame really, I liked how this worked during the short period where it did work.
