Beauty and the Beast Big Golden Book (Disney Beauty and the Beast)

I was 9 years old when the Disney animated version of Beauty and the Beast came out in 1991. I remember loving the movie and, now that I have kids of my own, I wanted them to know some of the Disney films I grew up with. With the upcoming release of the new Beauty and the Beast movie, I decided to watch the animated version again and felt it would be good for my kids to see it as well. They liked it so I decided to buy them the book that goes with the story. Personally, I'm a fan of the Big Golden Book series because they are longer, so they are good bedtime stories for us. My twins are now four and can tolerate sitting still for stories more so this book seemed like the best option for our family. This BGB version of Beauty and the Beast is great because it's detailed enough to capture the main points of the movie without getting too long. The colorful, vibrant pictures look just like the movie and each set of pages has several paragraphs of the story. Like all of the books in the BGB series, this book has a hardcover, glossy, colorful pages, and gold spine. It measures just under 9 inches by 11 inches and will fit in well with any other BGB you may have. This story has 40 pages in the actual story plus a couple extra pages. It typically takes us about 15 minutes, give or take a few, to read the story, which is great for a bedtime story or anytime during the day! From a mom's perspective, I love this book and feel it covers the story well. My kids enjoyed the story as well. They like looking at the pictures and ask questions about the story. If you want a Beauty and the Beast story for a child, I highly recommend this one. I love the more in-depth version of the story the BGB offer and these work out perfectly for us. We read them before bedtime and throughout the day!

Wonderful book

Very quick read for a bedtime book. Large pages and colorful pictures from the animated movie. Granddaughter loved it.

Wonderful book well made

My daughter was in a community theatre production of Beauty and the Beast and we used these as director gifts. The cast signed throughout the book and the directors both loved them. It is nice that they are larger than a regular Golden Book and the pictures are very vivid in color.

Love this princess that much that I named my daughter Belle 11 years ago!! When I seen the story on a Little Golden book I got over excited!! It’s also bigger than most Little Golden books.
