Vacmaster VOC508S 1102 5 Gallon Stainless Steel Wet Dry Shop Vacuum and 3 Gallon Ash Tank Combo

I bought this shop vac because it had the ash tank feature. I have a wood burning fireplace and didn't have a good way to get all the ash out at the end of season and even during the season. I started researching and saw that you needed a special ash vacuum. I was really looking for an excuse to buy a shop vac because I could use it for other chores. I've been using this one for about 6 months now and it's awesome. It has great power and the extension handle makes cleaning the garage and hardwood floors a breeze. The ash can is just what I needed to clean out the fire place too. You do have to clean the filter off after sucking up ash as it's so fine a particle, but I just take the removable filter off and drape it onto a wheelbarrow handle outside and blow it off with my leaf blower. Plus, it works great cleaning our vehicles. The entire set up is light and the wheels work great. I highly recommend this vac.

Remodeling master bedroom, master bathroom, kitchen, and guest house and this vacuum outlasted a ShopVac (burnt out) and a craftsman 6.5 XSP (motor stopped moving air), the craftsman top kept popping off too. I am very impressed and will be buying 2 more of these Vacmasters (1 for office and garage). I don't care about the price, I care about performance and longevity. I would pay more for the Vacmaster because it outlasted and outperformed the other vacuums, less trips to the hardware store. You can't go wrong with this vac. The only thing I would change, the ash/fine dust collector hose does not fit the accessories. But aftermarket adaptor fixed the issue, Vacmaster, as a convenience you should include a adaptor. I purchased this unit for tough cleaning in a house. The ash collection feature was a selling point. I wish that I would have returned it. The base unit works good. the ash collection system is disappointing. I use dust separators in my wood shop and this system leaves a lot to be desired. The most disappointing item is the filter sleave. I tried to put the included sleave on when the unit arrived. It tore in my hands. I contacted the company and no response. I had to use the unit that week so the filter has been compromised. The lease the company could have done is replaced the filter and sleave.

I bought this specifically for my Treager smoker. I put some water in the ash catch can and it worked great! Almost no ash went into the main canister. Cleanup was easy. Highly recommend for my fellow smokers.

The more I use it the more I like it.The cord could. be longer. I added an extension cord and taped them together and that did the trick.Other than that. I use it all the time and it works perfect! I would and have recommended it.

Purchased this specifically for fireplace ashes because it offered the 3 gal ash can. But it doesn't work as advertised. 1) the ash can didn't prevent a lot of ashes from going in the main vac, so you have 2 things to clean instead of one and the filter in the main can is destroyed. 2) the hose is too narrow, and chunks of firewood block the suction. 3) The hose that connects the ash can to the main can fits loosely and came out while in use, spreading ashes over the carpet. 4) The narrow hose and wands makes it less desirable as an all purpose shop vac, compared to other products. 5) It's clumsy to maneuver.

Works as described. No idea where most of the items go or what the filters are for. Has good power and rolls well
