What do I do?** A: My house is part of a condo association and they applied this product to my deck a few years ago and I couldn't walk on it for six weeks. I finally had the entire deck sanded and Australian Timber Oil applied again by an independent contractor which came out beautifully and was trouble free. I have since applied it myself several times and have never had a problem. It sounds to me that it is not being wiped soon enough after it is applied which will create problems. I like the product and plan to continue using it. **Q: There are two versions of this product, one is water clean up, the other is oil based and paint thinner is used for brush clean-up. Which version?** A: The first answer is wrong, you would never use thinner to clean a water based paint, you would obviously use water! Also, I've use the water based product and the oil base product a wet environment didn't find any difference. I believe the water base lasted a little longer and it doesn't have the irritating smell and is easy cleanup. **Q: Does the Natural have a matte Finish?** A: I used it on a bench made of smooth sanded ipe (Brazilian Hardwood) bench. It dried to somewhat of a sheen finish which I like. I have also used it on the bare wood of outdoor tools (shovels, etc) and it dries to the same sheen finish. This stain is beautiful and applies easily. HOWEVER, be aware of packaging. We were so surprised that the can lid did not pop off. If it had not been for some clamps that were place on the top, it would have popped off. The can rim and the can itself was bent in terribly. Once we open the can, we will not be able to close the lid.
