It is light weight, so it is not a professional insert. They were recommended by my chiropractor. **Q: Can these be worn for athletic activities such as running and playing tennis?** A: Absolutely, I wear them during trail runs up to 60km with no problems even when wet or muddy. For piece of mind you may want to apply double sided tape to stop them moving when put on or off. But they do not slip or move during heavy use. The insert doesn't reach anywhere near the toes. It's three inches short** A: Depending on the severity of your plantar fasciitis. It will cause your arch to be lifted into place. It can be tender until you get use to it. It will also help if you do a calf stretch for the plantar fascists. As far as the length it will be short because it is for the arch not an all over cushion. **Q: how long before you should replace them? I wear them everyday** A: I wear mine everyday to. Very very uncomfortable and I developed a noticeable limp. These insoles were recommended to me so I ordered them right away. I spend a lot of time at home so I put them in my house shoes (hard soled slippers really) and have been very pleased.
