Yes they are tested and free of lead and cadmium as well.

Are these mugs porcelain or stoneware? The description says porcelain however the title says both porcelain and stoneware which is not the same.

I can't speak to the description on the page here in Amazon, nor have I dissected one of the cups to inspect the grain of the material, but according to the Mora site, they are made from Paladin clay, which is their own proprietary blend, making these purely ceramic mugs, non-cadium glaze, tested up to 1500F. So is it stoneware or porcelain? idk. They don't say what temp it's fired at, and it's a composite clay. I imagine if that blurb is in the text, then the composite clay is made of a mix of porcelain and stoneware clays. I would assume it's effectively stoneware, or maybe a higher quality stoneware. > "Paladin clay absorbs less water and has a higher density than other clays, creating an overall lighter weight ceramic." YMMV

How tall are these cups? The description is a little confusing.

They are 3-3/4 inches tall. They are great for my coffee in the morning. They hold 12 oz. with room for creamer. I really like them.
