Tried this for shucking oysters at home and it actually worked pretty well. The knife feels sturdy and has a good grip, so it doesn’t slip around while you’re applying pressure. I’m not a pro at opening oysters, but this made it a lot easier and felt pretty safe to use. Definitely better than trying to use random kitchen tools. Takes a little practice if you’ve never done it before, but once you get the hang of it, it works great. Overall a solid tool if you plan on opening oysters yourself.

I assume it can last for very long time with the full tang design and stainless steel. My previous one of a different brand broke between the knife and the handle. I haven't tried the glove yet.

I was hoping the gloves would be thicker and more durable, but I guess they’ll have to do but the knives are good

I love this set so much I purchased another on as a gift for a Young foodie! It’s durable and convenient because it includes a Glove!!!

I wanted to love this kit because it comes with everything you need for a good price. The problem is it is tough to get the shucking tool into the oyster shell kind of thick, but you won’t cut yourself.

The gloves are somewhat good for preventing cuts because of the kevlar, but not so much from piercing. The best part is the knife/oyster tool. It is the best on the market, you have way better control and grip so much less chances to slip trough and get to your hand. Review from my dad!!
