Smallest and cheapest mobile radio I've encountered
I bought this radio to be a dual bander for amateur radio. Opening this option up is as easy as entering a code on the microphone. The reason I wanted this particular one was for the programming port in front. Extremely CHIRPable. Speaker has very good output. Perfect for the Prius!

Great GMRS for your adventures
Fits perfectly in my 2004 Yukon shelf without any modification. Power is great with antenna. Perfect for off-road adventurers or when SHTF. Be prepaRED for 2024.

Could be around $50 mobile radio
Wished it was a little easier to figure it out. Only figured it out because of the strange programming in other radios by many of these companies. When added repeaters ctcss codes they must be placed within the specific GMRS channel. Meaning all repeaters must be programmed within channels 15-22 also when setting up the ctcss codes they will only show when first entered. Once existing the menu it's no longer visible. However it has been changed. Baofeng GMRS handheld radios are the same way. Cheap programming software setup.

Not a 20 watt radio.
The radio performs the basic functions outlined in the description with the exception that the output power is listed as either 15 or 5 watts in the manual. I would have given it a higher rating but the included CD programming software and a downloaded copy from the QYT website both have programming errors that prevent them from loading or running on any of my personal computers. Be advised some of the functions and parameters of this radio's operation can only be changed or enabled using the software. Also the PL 2303 chip inside the programming cable is either faulty or has been corrupted.
