Gorton 1/8" "D" Air Valve

Gorton Valves are very high quality. One star off because their system for determining which valve to use in each room is confusing. I've got my house pretty evened off by using a "D" valve in the room furthest from the furnace and the other rooms according to their confusing chart. Other brands have different grading systems for their valves that make it easier, but are not of the same good quality of Gorton valves. so, one star off for the way their site explains which valves to use. ALSO, be careful as to which vendor you use. I have had the wrong valve sent to me. The bag stated a "D" valve, but when I looked very closely at the size etched into the metal, it was a different size than that on the label on the plastic bag it came it. I had to return it and buy it at my plumbing supply store to make certain I was getting the right size. My WRONG sized valve came from Plumbing Supply Now. I'd choose a different vendor.

Had to replace the air valve on my 2nd floor steam radiator. I first installed a Gorton #6 valve but it was not pulling in enough heat. I then ordered the D valve and what a difference it made! My room is nice and warm now when the heat kicks in. It may even work too well as I've woken up sweating from how warm the room gets. Great product.

Like the product, just wish they weren't as pricey. You do sort of get what you pay for when it comes to steam vents however.

Very loud, steam and water sputter out of the vent constantly.
