I own the Waterman Exception and I can confirm that the nib is 18kt solid gold and the nib bears the 18K 750 engraving. You didn't ask about the color of the nib but it is shiny white/silver because it is Rhodium-Plated. Here's a snip of info from Reddit, but I don't know if it is uninformed opinion, or fact. "Gold always needs to be plated. Gold is very easily damaged if it's being rubbed against surfaces all the time. Rhodium is used because it is in the platinum family and is way harder than gold. So plating with Rhodium gives you the buttery smoothness of gold and the ruggedness of this exotic metal."
