Hiwonder LX-225 High Torque Serial Bus Servo 25KG Torque with Three Connectors and Data Feedback

Took some effort to get it to work (my first time with these), but Chat-GPT Solved it for me. I'm using my own RS-232 Interface directly from the PC and a custom made UI for basic controls. This thing is AWESOME. Lots of Torque and reasonably Fast. A word of CAUTION, Do NOT use your USB Port to power it. I tried it on my laptop and temporarily blew my USB Port out (had to do a full power reset, including pulling the battery out to get it to reset). So use External Power Supply as this thing needs some AMPS... Now I want to get their 100KG module!

This servo packs a lot of torque in a small package and appears to be built to last. It is controlled by a serial signal instead of PWM, so an adapter board is needed unless it's just replacing a servo in a device that already uses the serial protocol.

Unfortunately the vendor shipped this item (Hiwonder 35KG High Torque HST-35H) missing important parts. We submitted a request to ship them separately but they never even responded. BUYER BEWARE ! The servos themselves are good quality.

I used this on a 1:10 scale Axial based crawler build. It works very well and I don't see any difference in my steering from the name brand version I had on it before. It was easy to install and I am very satisfied with it.

This high torque servo is working well. It is installed on a rover and controls a forward facing sensor package for SLAM. The wiring and commands are standard and so far there have been no issues at all with getting everything setup and working. Everything was included and I was up and running in no time at all. Overall, very pleased with this little servo.
