**Q: What is the anion exchange resin, trimethylamine?**
A: Yes, that is correct.

**Q: What is the life exepctancy of the filter ? is there a tds value that indicates when to change the filter ?**
A: Manufacturer says 6 months on this DI filter

**Q: How long do you recommend to replace the di de-ionization filter?**
A: Our recommendation is to change the DI Filter once every 6 months.

**Q: will it remove salt & how much? We have a water sfotener and our water is salty now, so we got a r.o. & it is somewhat better but not great tasting.**
A: There must be something wrong with your water softener.  I've been running them for 20 years and our water has never tasted salty.  There should never be a reason to bypass the water softener (which most people can't do because it's a whole-house system).  People buy RO systems to get rid of the salt ions that build up in their evaporative humidifier wicks. RO has always been recommended for that to save buying so many wicks.  If you bypass the water softener and run hard water through it, the membrane and the DI will not last as long due the hard work the filters have to do to remove the calcium and magnesium.
