I originally started with a much cheaper student set but I eventually decided to upgrade to something with better reviews. The difference in the pigment load is like night and day. One of the standout features of this set is that the formula uses honey as a binder. This makes the paints much thicker and more luscious than standard sets. You do not have to use nearly as much product to get a rich and vibrant colour on the paper. Unlike cheaper brands they are not chalky at all and they stay creamy even after they have dried in the pans. While this set is a bit more of an investment it is completely worth it for the amount of variety you receive. Having forty eight colours at your fingertips is a massive time saver if you do not want to spend your entire session mixing your own shades.
