The three legged kind that has a built in flashlight, which need two or three AA batteries, is what i use presently and like it. If it's the cane that will adjust from 21 up to 37 or 38 when in walking position, With all three legs at it's highest position, the seat is at least 24" off the ground. my heighbor has the shorter kind but like mine better for a 6'2" man like myself. He is still quite active for his age and "jogs" 2 miles every morning. Sometimes he's not so steady half way into the jog ... and was getting winded or light headed. Being stubborn as he is (I told him maybe a walk and not jog is better at this point) but he still wants to get out there. Anyway he loves that he can sit down down when he feels like he needs to. And the cane is still light weight enough that he can jog with it in hand! He has also used it while waiting in very long lines and brings it with him on outings where there might be a lot of walking involved. It's pretty sturdy and can open and close easily. It was a little stiff and hard to open and close when he first got it but after loosening it up after a few times its pretty smooth now. I like that it has adjustable legs to accommodate for a taller person to sit on comfortably. The only thing that I don't care for is that you have to sit on it "backwards" with the seat in between your legs in order to stay stable. An older lady friend of mine who could benefit from using this refuses because she wears skirts or dresses all of the time and feels its "unladylike" to be sitting there (getting on and off of it) with your legs spread open (I get that).
