Norse Tradesman Hand-Carved Wooden Kuksa Cup, 11 oz

I was looking for a period appropriate drinking cup for my Ren Faire Costume. When I saw the cup at the Norse Tradesman booth at the Southern Christmas Show I realized it was perfect. Got myself one. Then when I got home decided I needed to purchase more for friends and was thrilled to find them on Amazon! A sturdy, easily seasoned and cleaned, well-made cup that can be attached to my belt either in the burlap bag it comes in or by itself. This cup would also be great for hikers and campers.

I was able to fit my whole crown apple and sprite drink in here and I THINK I looked cool drinking from it

I couldn’t carve my own kuksa so bought these instead. I like to use them whenever I can. I use them everyday at home as dedicated coffee cup, but it feels much more home when used outdoor. Make sure you oil them with mineral oil when dry and try not to use soap too much. Treat them like cast iron.

Exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, the cup cracked shortly after arrival. Contacted customer service and they sent out a new one. So happy to support companies that stand by their products! I will definitely by from this seller again!!

easy to clean just put some water in with a drop of Dawn soap and a wash rag, rinse a few times to get soap out and then rinse last time with warm or hot tap water and put it upside down on a towel and let it dry.

Very disappointed with this Kuksa cup. The first one I ordered cracked from the rim towards the bowl about an inch as soon as cool water was poured into it. I reordered the same one. No visual defects, but when I added cool water, beads of water appeared all around the outside of the cup. Water was "leaching" through the wood and it looked like sweat drops on the outside. I went on line to find a solution. I've tried many coats of Grapeseed oil, including filling the entire bowl and letting it stand for several hours. Still leaked. I tried mixing very strong coffee in the bowl, let dry for an hour, and then smear the oily coffee grounds on the inside of the bowl. Still leaks. I now ordered 100% Pure Tung oil from Amazon, as I read that seems to have worked for others. It's also recommended by individuals that carve their own wood cups/bowls. If that doesn't work, it's going in the garbage. I won't even keep it as a conversation piece as it makes me livid going through all this trouble.

It looks nice. But tips easy. Would be nice if it was heavy bottomed. Tips easy.

This thing is awesome. It holds a proper amount of coffee rather than one of those thimble-sized kuksas other people sell. I had my first coffee in it this morning!

Well made and looks awsome. I have it on display and is a real talking point with visitors.

Die Tasse hat in der Mitte ein unscheinbares Loch, welches die Tasse undicht macht. Für den hohen Preis eine Unverschämtheit. Scheint ja kein Einzelfall zu sein, wie man hier herausliest. Genau das macht mich stutzig. Werden die Tassen denn nicht mal angeschaut oder geprüft? Ärgerlich. Geht zurück.

The first one that I received came cracked and began leaking very quickly after I received it. The second one also appears to have some weak spots. I have a YouTube channel where I shoot videos about camping, fishing, survival and wilderness skills and I was really hoping to be able to use this cup on all of my camp trips and in many of my videos. I have high hopes for it, but it looks like they may be unfounded.

This kuksa looks amazing but one major flaw, there’s a hole at the bottom which leaks. Looks like it’s been machined and left a hole in the process to which has been filled with something that doesn’t hold liquid. I sent it back immediately.

Bought as a gift for my partners birthday and it leaks, cannot tell where it is leaking from though
