So I decided to go for this black board with the chalk markers to help keep it looking tidy for years to come. Its been great - there's enough room to write a couple of lines per day, there's spaces for additional notes and reminders - things like DEFROST the ROAST!!! The chalk markers work well but you do really have to shake them very, very well the first time and then very well every time after that. The red is the most tempermental, it can streak a bit more then the other colors but all of them work well. Clean up is easy also - damp paper towel will do it, we usually use the one we just dried our hands off with.
