worked as described
These are the best on the market in their price range. I have 5 of them now for my crew. The Navac ones keep failing on us for some reason which surprised me and we have a couple of the H10 and Infocon devices but they are just too expensive for doing essentially the same thing.

Highly impressed
I've used this tool for well over a year now and there hasn't been one leak I haven't found with this tool. 9.9 times out of 10, if this leak detector is going off, it has found an issue. Very accurate. It's the most reliable electronic leak detector I've had and well worth the money. I have found leaks deep within evaporator coils, condenser coils. Very simple and easy to use. I did have to get a replacement Due to Unit refusing Hold a charge. It's very easy to get in contact with customer support And they shipped out a new unit With a Shipping label to return to old one.

Would give 4.5 stars
Honestly this is fantastic to use and it has found leaks for me a bunch of times. I do recommend the product as it is a good price for what you get. >Tl;dr: very good for price, but be very wary of plastic sensor that goes on the end of the probe. Would be 5 stars hands down if not for that. -basically, I do mainly residential HVAC with occasional commercial work. -when I first started using it I felt uneasy on how to proceed with it, but after learning how best to use it I learned it's actually a very smooth operation. --I use IR mode in high and I find a general source spot (high is very sensitive!) once I find a general spot, I swap over to heated diode and find the actual spot. IR has medium and low settings and sometimes I'll use them, but often I find myself using IR on High then using heated diode since it goes from 000-999 and thus since I'm in the general area already I can use the numbers to find where it's at as it pretty easily. (ie: in spot, reading 50.. sure could be there but very small, let me go around and OH it's now reading 200! Found it!) +the main complaint I have and it's a decent one, is the sensors that screw onto probe arms are plastic while the arm is metal. Sometimes I have to push my detector into rough spots (like where lineset goes into wall cavity, or tight spots behind a head-in unit for minisplit) and I have had them break on me as its very cheap plastic. My set came with I believe 6 and I'm down to just 1 and have to be very gentle with it now. I do recommend this. It's much more accessible than ones you have to plug in, into an outlet cause let's be honest a lot of air handlers/condensers don't have outlets so you have to use a cheater whip; let alone if you have to follow copper line through attic for a spot (like how one time with a roofing nail!) Can't use a plug in one for that as they won't reach without extension cables. Wireless leak detectors get a bad rep from people I have worked with, but this guy is an awesome tool. Just a shame about the tip.

Worked like a charm
LG tech came to house, replaced compressor, .ain't board and recharged. Not once did the tech check for leaks and the problem happened again. LG sent another tech, same crap different day. I was told my refrigerator needed replaced and was not repairable. LG refunded me 1700 (same refrigerator now cost 4k)., I took that money and purchased gauges, freon and researched hard. Turned out this tool right here FOUND my problem. It was the refrigerator evaporator and it was leaking at several places. 115 dollars for a replacement evap, some learni.g and my refrigerator is working perfectly again. LG does not want to fix refrigerators, they make more on the selling side. Point: LEARN TO FIX YOUR OWN STUFF with quality tools and this sniffer is it.

Good tool 👍
I’ve been using it for a while now, is a good leak detector never had any issues with it. Works as it should and is accurate, good value for money.

Don't hesitate, this thing really works!
I purchased this item to find a refrigerant leak that several local hvac companies refused to find and repair(but they all gave quotes to replace a very long run of copper lines). This "sniffer" found the leak in less than 45 minutes. Well worth the price. I bought this one from a recommendation from a friend who runs a crew of hvac techs.

you get what you pay for.
After about 1.5 years only the IR is still working. The Heated diode gave up. No error but not sensing much either. I told ellitech support after a few month of ownership that something s wrong with heated diode and they did nothing to correct it. It was not even used extensively, perhaps few times per month. I should have bought a better brand from the get go..
