NOTE: This is a Small Font Edition Review: Surprised to see how nice this Bible is. - What a nice Bible. As a senior adult I am pleased with the stories, the art work and in general how interesting the stories are written not only for children but for adults to enjoy. I am very impressed with the writing. I was brought up Catholic and was not exposed to much of the stories. I find these very interesting and informative for things I have missed. I highly recommend this book for enjoyment and knowledge. Review: Great for the tween reader - Beautiful book has beautiful illustrations, perfect for my tween grandsons. The Children's Illustrated Bible
The service I received upon ordering and receiving The Children's Illustrated Bible is unbelievable. As it turned out, the Bible was not the one I intended to get for a five year old. The print was much too small and the language much too advanced for him. However, when I called Amazon and talked with one of your exceptionally gracious and helpful associates, I explained that I had intended to get a Bible that had large lettering and much white space. She immediately knew what I wanted and guided me through the process of actually looking at the Bible she had suggested. It was exactly what I wanted!! This young lady was ever so helpful and made sure that the Bible was shipped and received in time for Christmas! I can never thank her enough for the service she provided me nor Amazon for including on its staff persons who have such exceptional customer service skills. Thanks Loads!!

Great for religious and non-religious alike
I'm an atheist, and I bought this for my daughter to share with her grandmother, who is a devout Catholic. The stories are engaging and colorful, and provide interesting notes and correlations in the sidelines to provide historical context. There are no "moral of the story" commentaries added; rather, a relatively straightforward telling of common bible stories. I want my daughter to know the stories that are important to her greater family's traditions without being preachy or insisting on a belief in God. This book is just what I was looking for.

Attractive storytelling with great illustrations!
The book is very good for young readers. The stories are presented in language that is easy to understand. The illustrations are period appropriate. I read some stories from this book to a group of 3rd graders and it held their attention. The only downside was to do with the actual print edition of the book. I did not realize that the book was going to be a miniature version of what the picture leads one to believe. I should have checked product specifications. The writing is very small - not ideal for children.

So glad to find this Bible
Great story bible for kids. I was looking for a Bible that had more stories than your typical volume. This is it! The stories aren't long, but that leaves time for discussion. Great pictures and information about each story, the cultures, ect. The only drawback is the print size, it's a bit small. But then, with more stories the book is more compressed. Otherwise, it might be huge! So there's a tradeoff, but I'll take it. About 140 stories, with pages devoted to describing each arc. Creation, the Patriarchs, Egypt, Canaan, Conquering Nations, ect. It's small, but thorough. I recommend it for kids with a good understanding of the basics, ready to move deeper with parental guidance.

Blessing to all who read KJV doesn't dumb-down the Bible
EXCELLENT BOOK. Great pictures. Easy to read font. Seems to be KJV from what I have read. Very well made. Keeps to God's word without diluting or minimizing what God has said and done. Doesn't use dumb-down language. Great opportunity to teach not only God's word but build my grandchilds vocabulary.

I don't usually write reviews, but after getting this children's illustration bible, I thought I should write a review to recommend this book to those who are looking for a special book for their children. THIS is special! I love the way this book shows pictures of places where the stories were set. It makes bible stories much more interesting and enables me journey with the people in the history. Invaluable book!

Loved it.
I bought this book as a christening present for my grandson. He is far too young to appreciate it, but I loved it. Buy the larger version for children. I would seriously like the smaller version for myself. The stories are well written and the illustrations lovely, and there is a lot of background information. A good book for older children.

Just the thing to make a child interested in the Bible
This is a handy book that can be carried anywhere. Which seems to be the reason for the small font. The illustrations are beautiful and interest evoking. I think 8+ can read this. Even adults can read it. I always feel that illustrated Bibles are the perfect way to get a child to begin his or her own spiritual journey. And yes, the font is smaller than normal but I think children can read it. The book is small because of this and that's probably why it is not bulky.
