The product I received matches neither the photos nor the description of the item. The illustrations clearly show a rack and pinion mechanism for height adjustment; the item I received uses a friction drive that slips very easily. A graduated scale is shown on the base, what I received has none. The pictures show and the description mentions "snap" and "zoom" buttons on the side of the unit. The one I received lacks them. According to the description, it is capable of 1000x magnification. The best I've been able to get using their calibration ruler is 300x; specifically I can display the 0.1mm grid as 3cm squares.That being said, the unit does work reasonably well if you don't mind fiddling with it a lot to get the field of view and the focus you want and you only need less than half the "rated" magnification.UPDATE 2017/03/28: For whatever reason the device will no longer allow images greater than 640x480 pixels, or 0.3MB. There seems to be no way I can find to contact the vendor.

This product's software does not load properly. The user manual is on the software disk, but you can't open it. Instead, what appears to be someone going through prompts on your computer from an outside computer happens. And that language is in Chinese. It probably would be a decent item if the seller didn't try to cut corners by not including a culturally sensitive user manual.

Not very good quality it took long time to adjust the lens. Software took some tricks to make it work with windows 10.

Really works great.

Pretty good unit for the price. I was suprised by the images that I was able to get from it. One complaint is the locking mechanism needs to be a little stronger. The unit tends to slide down the shaft. Other than that, I am very happy with it. Shipping was fairly fast as well. Arrived a few days before it was expected.
