Cleaning the windshield wipers are going to extend their life regardless, as most people neglect this. For that, WD-40, is probably even better, because it won't dry the blades out. Washer fluid or hot soapy water would work far better for the same reason. The fact is, those seals of his would have probably failed sooner had he not used Gummi (or a similar quality product). Like the weatherstrip around your doors, trunk, etc. Almost all the reviews here show people applying it to the wrong parts, like bumpers and door handles. That's NOT what it is for. And all the bad reviews are due to poor shipping, so ignore every single one of those. This stuff works great, and the applicator works great if you bother to READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. I have a couple vehicles that have top covers and will squeak, especially off-road. Applying this to the seals makes them soft like silk, and the squeaking is gone. Has a light citrus scent which I don't particularly like, but it's not offensive and after a day the scent is completely gone. I tried this on one of my older cars, and it stopped the squeaky weatherstripping on that one too.
