A: Yes. At first, you need to remove the skin of the garlic and then put it in the press. In this way, the effect is perfect.

**Q: There seems to be no review controll I decided not to buy this because of some bad reviews untill I realized they were for a totally different item ?**
A: This particular press. With 2 options, to slice or small bits is absolutely great to use.  Just recently started using the slice feature.  I wish I had found this years ago!!

**Q: Can this be washed in a dish washer?**
A: yes

**Q: Are the garlic slices thick or thin?**
A: They are thin but not so thin they burn easily while sautéing. I think they are the perfect thickness. I love this press.
