Great Hot Drink ( especially during winter) Sahlep, direct from Istanbul, TR
The product is good quality— very high price (shocking) initially, but still ordered to see, try it … as it is one of my favorite Turkish hot drink since childhood; here is the storyIt was worth the money— as I also compared to local sale price per unit in Turkey:1) it is a pack of 5 (five) individual cans / tins of the sahlep powder, which is normally high priced, because, very rare, hard to extract orchids flower powder (when close to pure), —not a sugary mix2) initially I was thinking it is imported in bulk to the US, and then packed and sold from US location, expecting traditional Amazon boxing— but the product came directly shipped / imported from TR, via Amazon order by DHL — international shipping, customs and perhaps insurance was included in delivered price (all inclusive)Overall, great taste, closest to pure sahlep (drink with cinnamon dust), high quality and taste I am used to…. wonderful hot drink for cold winter! To spice it, prefer to sprinkle cinnamon powder on top!If you know, like and want this powder to make into the drink by mixing with milk, this is the place to buy it online, direct from Turkey: HAFIZ MUSTAFA (HM), since 1864!Gave this one 5 stars, given, having tried other products / vendors.. Delicious Childhood Memory
I lived in Turkey for 5 years as a child. One of my fondest memories was going to the bazaar with my mom to buy gold jewelry. The workers at the store always offered us beverages and my favorite was salep. It’s warm, sweet, and delicious and tastes like nothing else in the world. I ordered salep from Hafiz Mustafa and received it quickly all the way from Istanbul to the US! The tins the salep comes in are neat looking and make great gifts. The salep itself mixes easily with hot milk and tastes like heaven! I will definitely order from Hafiz Mustafa again and will try their other products. Thank you for helping me enjoy a little piece of my happy childhood in Ankara. Much love from Oklahoma, US!
