I purchased this lovely statue in April of 2023 and was very pleased with its quality and appearance. I placed it in my outdoor garden that spring and summer. I noticed fading of the finish but that was about all of the degradation I noticed. I am in zone 7 and, while we do have cold snaps, we don't get much moisture in the winter. I noticed upon inspection in February 2024 that at least 50% of the surface of the sculpture had busted away from the body and the statue was almost unrecognizable. I was beyond bummed as I had specifically sought out a garden statue that was supposed to be all weather. So, why the 5 star review????? I contacted the seller and explained the situation to them. I received an immediate reply requesting some photos. Once I had returned the photos, I received a lovely reply with additional instructions, I was made "whole" by Lamps Plus. My advice: purchase the statue if you like it. It is lovely and makes a very nice addition to your patio or landscaping. When harsh weather is coming around, move the statue to a protected area. Enjoy it for years to come , as I intend to. I have purchased other items from Lamps Plus in the past and have always found their customer service to be superb.

I needed a large Buddha for my garden - have been looking at local retail and online for over a year. Finally ran across this one, liked the scale and the look. Very happy with it - came well-packaged, had no damage; seems pretty substantial. Not in the garden yet because it's still winter, but will post a pic once I have it placed. I would recommend this if you're looking for a large statue as a focal point. Update two years later: while my Buddha still occupies a place in my garden, be aware that extreme heat or direct sun will cause expansion and seams begin to appear, sometimes with large cracks - you'll need to fill with silicone or caulk and then repaint. An hour or two of direct sun is enough to cause this sort of damage. What is apparent is that the piece is constructed out of two halves and epoxied/glued together. It is indeed not ceramic. I bring mine in for storage in late autumn, put it back out in mid-spring after freezing temps are no longer an issue. Still happy with the purchase, but I do think a bit more truth in advertising is in order!

It is large and sits on a giant tree stump on a knoll above my driveway as one approach the entryway. It’s base and size makes it 20 pounds and that is enough to anchor it without all the hassle people are asked to go through to keep many of these from falling over. This one is well packaged and just the right weight. It is a female form of the Buddha but of course bodies of human women are actually similar to mens. There are fat male form Buddhas but the purpose of the Buddha having many forms is to show that it is the spirit of the Buddha that matters and not the body. As a note of interest Prince Siddhartha was Hindu and the first twelve vedas written make up Hinduism. The concept of the Buddha was written and became the 13th Veda of Hinduism. Most Buddhists in that part of the world follow that 13th Veda as a guide. Hinduism accepts it as the final Veda. I suppose you could say it is similar to the Christian bible in that the New Testament is added to the Old Testament. The New Testament followers are considered Christian and those that follow the Old Testament only are Jewish. They think Christ was a prophet but are still waiting for the savior to arrive. Buddhism is unique among what we call religions because adherence to a god concept is not necessary to follow Buddhist teachings. Shinto Buddhism practiced in Japan is a structured form with traditions and rituals like Roman Catholicism. I include this commentary because it is good to be able to explain to people why you have a Buddha in your yard or home. It represents a spiritual view of life without strict rules that teaches that we can all have the essence of the Buddha inside of us and live our lives on earth as if every day here is what is most important. The best people try to live their lives in that light to create as much heaven on earth as possible. You dont need to compete or even believe in a god to enter heaven. You only need to do your best while living here and it all counts. That is what this excellent and sturdy seated Buddha image represents and why you want to display it. I have statues that display many religions along with a few mythological figures as a way of saying that there are many paths to the same destination. You and your guests will enjoy the peaceful feeling brought to your home with this reasonably priced truly substantial image. You are allowed to explain Buddhist thought your own way without worrying that some adherent will correct your thinking though there are always some who will claim you have it wrong. It only means they have more to learn. You are the Buddha and the Buddha is you. Treat yourself and others with compassion on the journey……..and use this display as a daily reminder that what you do that day matters.

Absolutely 🤩! It was a bit more expensive than other similar products on Amazon, but was totally worth it! It looks amazing, and I am pretty sure it can sustain any weather (including snow). It dries up quickly in rain (I poured water over it). The light sandstone is light enough to pick it up, yet heavy enough to keep it in place. And above all, it looks awesome under my oak tree ❤️.

I Received this item very fast; it was well-packed. Gorgeous and tasteful, the best I have seen for a tasteful garden sculpture. Resin but gray, stone finish that looks like a fine antique sculpture, and I am particular. So beautiful it could be used indoors in an oriental decor. Very large, almost 3 ft high! Most are too small for good visual impact outdoors. Aged, stone-like pattina. The resin is THICK AND heavy enough to stay put in storms and wind, but most could easily lift it, unlike the concrete ones which require 2 people to put in place I had to give up on. NOT PLASTIC or cheap. Very reasonable cost--others this size were $200.00+. 100% A-1--just exactly wht I was looking for in a substantial garden statue!!!

This looks like a beautiful and large piece in the photos presented however the quality is very poor and mine arrived broken. Not only was it broken but it was shipped to me broken! In the reviews I can see that others have had the same issue with the statue arriving broken without any of the pieces in the box. Who does that? Do they think someone is going to keep this in that condition. Mine also had scratches and dents. The quality will NOT be suitable for long term outdoor use as I can see it chipping and fading quickly. Mine had a chip and the paint is a very thin layer which is not sealed, any small bump will damage it and the light colored material underneath will easily show. Given the size and weight it's more hassle than it is worth especially if you have to return it. It definitely needs 2 able bodied people especially if you have stairs to navigate and are moving it some distance away from your delivery spot. Returning it through Lamps Plus was also a hassle and the customer service so rude and unhelpful. Amazon intervened and it was super great but it took a lot of time and effort for something that should never have been shipped in the first place. Plus, for pick up they had 3 different Fed Ex drivers show up! What a waste of time and hassle. I feel bad for the carriers as they had to lug it to me only to have all these people trying to take it back. It looks promising if you are interesting in something like this but learn from my experience and keep looking.

This would be a fine work of art if they got the paint right.The color is dull and unattractive, and if you leave it out through the winter about 15% of it flakes off, exposing the white resin beneath. I repainted with a spray can of Rust-Oleum metallic dark copper from Home Depot. IMHO that is just the right color, providing a lasting, subtle sheen without looking cheap or flashy. On the plus side, the statue is light enough to move easily, but heavy enough to stay grounded in strong wind. He's a beautiful and reliable companion I look forward to seeing each morning.
