Useful for connecting smart phone to car stereo without Bluetooth
Like most modern smart phones, mine only has a single USB-C 'charging' connector, and no place to plug in a set of headphones or an AUX cable to an amplifier or the AUX input of a car stereo. Since I listen to audio books when I drive, especially to occupy myself on long drives associated with vacation trips, I rely on being able to sync/connect my smart phone with a rental car's stereo using Bluetooth wireless. On two recent trips where I had to rent a car at an airport, I ended up with a Chevy Equinox, both of which steadfastly refused to 'play nice' with my smart phone over Bluetooth. They only wanted to connect to Apple phones, and my Android phone was apparently not welcome. Luckily, for many years I always bring along an AUX cable which allows plugging a phone's headphone output to the car's AUX input. But only too late I remembered that my new phone does not have a headphone output. I was able to pick up a small 'USB-C to headphone' adapter at a Walgreens drug store I was driving past, and that got me my desired phone-to-AUX connection, but now the phone was depleting its battery charge on the long drive and even though I had along my car-power to USB-C charger cord, I could not plug it into the phone at the same time as the new adapter. So, I ended up leaving the phone plugged into car power via the charging cable, while listening to my audio book via the phone's tinny little speaker, just barely adequate due to road noise and such. I purchased this "USB-C to 3.5mm Headphone and Charger Adapter", which does the same thing as the little adapter from Walgreens, while also adding another USB-C connector for plugging in my phone's charger cord at the same time. I have tested it on my own car at home, and it works fine with my Android phone, and audio quality is just fine, and I verified that this adapter does allow me to charge the phone through it while listening. There is some information about this device allowing volume control, but there was no manual of guide with it and I don't see how to use that feature, if it actually has it. One caveat I noticed when testing this product with my Android phone and my own car; at first, there was no sound from the car's speakers even when playing my audio book. It seemed that the book was playing through the phone's little speaker and NOT outputting an audio signal via the USB-C connector. I had to go into my phone's settings and turn off the Bluetooth, at which point this product was able to start performing its function. The adapter I bought from Walgreens did not have this issue. Note: If you want to use this product in the way I described above, you will also need to have a suitable AUX extension cable, with the 3.5mm stereo phone plug at each end (one end plugs into the car's AUX input jack, and the other end plugs into the 'headphone' output jack of this product. I suggest that the cable be at least 3 feet long. If you just want to plug a pair of headphones into this product, you don't need an AUX extension cable. This product's 'headphone' output is suitable for both actual headphone use and also for the AUX type connection to a car's AUX input, or a computer's sound card 'line in' jack, etc.

Works well
Mine is still working great at over 5 months of use. I use at night when I listen to old radio shows, with my old earbuds) to fall asleep to and I can wake up with a fully charged battery. It gets slightly warm were the charger plugs in when the battery is very low, but it never gets alarmingly hot. I'm using it with Motorola Edge 2024. Yes, plugging in the charger pauses audio, but after pressing play again you can charge and listen at the same time.

Can't charge and listen to music at the same time
If you expected it to charge and listen to music at the same time, it doesn't. Much to the dismay of my boyfriend, who likes to be able to listen to music from his phone on roadtrips, but can't if his phone runs low on battery. For separate functions, it works great! Just not a dual function item.

It works BUT power issues (Edited after seller contacted me)
EDIT: My original review for the product still stands - see below. HOWEVER I have raised my star rating from 2 to 4 on the strength of the excellent customer service by the vendor, who kindly refunded the purchase price of BOTH adapters well after any expected time frame. For that reason, I recommend anything that they sell, as it appears that the vendor will support their merchandise... A rare, honorable way to do business - kudos. Original review Primary reason we bought first one, then a second, was for sound use. No complaints, great sound. Sometimes used for charging, but only after stopping music or video... i.e. realizing battery needed a boost, turn off program and plug power in before going to sleep. As luck would have it, we never did test both functions at same time until a recent trip, when we discovered that we could not use headphones and charge at same time on consistent basis. Able to recreate issue with older and newer Pixel phones. And older & newer tablets. Gave up and bought another brand... Being stubborn, got home & decided to try mixing and matching various cables and chargers (mostly Anker, both conventional and PD), and discovered (by accident) that if you: a) connect power to adapter (without headphones connected) b) then plug adapter into phone/tablet... AND WAIT 5-10 SECONDS c) THEN connect headphones... then the adapters seemed to behave as advertised. Unsure if this is a quirk due to adapter age or circuit design, but it seems that the phones/tablets have to settle and stabilize, power-wise, with these adapters BEFORE you start listening to music or audio from a video. In other words, a normal behavior (say, listening to music or watching a video, realizing that battery is getting low, plug in power...) MAY result in little/slow charging, error messages (check power adapter etc), etc. Summary: OK to use, but realize that you may have to change your behavior to work around the characteristics of this adapter. For us, our two units have been downgraded to spares...

Used it on my Motorola Razr+ 2024. Works wonderfully with my DJ headphone to listen to music, and my headphone with mic to talk on the phone. But the second you plug power to charge, it cuts the headphones off. Only one can work at a time, which defeats the purpose of the product. If you wish to use both ports at the same time, it may not work. Not a recommended buy ... Sorry

Used on iPhone 15 pro max. Crackles and distortion when used in car with charging - original “lower quality” equivalent does not have these problems. The problems didn’t show when used indoors with headphones and charger connected. However, it was purchased for car use, so returned.

Sometimes activates Google assistant while driving, gets in the way. Audio quality and volume on the jack are way better compared to the Apple adapter I used to use. Charging seems to be the around same as without the adapter
