Also, the pads are small (about 2 inches in diameter) so you'd probably need to use two for your whole face. I use one of these to remove stubborn waterproof mascara (one pad does both eyes) and then I follow up with a Ponds Towelette, which I use to remove the residual oil from my eyes, and then wash the rest of my face with it. The Ponds towelettes are much larger (about 6x6) and good at removing foundation, but they are ineffective at removing waterproof mascara. I've used this method for over two years and it works perfectly for me. **Q: I need the oily pads. confusing info. name does not say oil free yet description says oil free. which is it??!! even qa here conflicting.** A: These were crazy oily. I was very disappointed because of the oil free description. **Q: only for EYE makeup? How about lipstick- the all-day kind?** A: It works great to remove long wear lipstick. Not a smudge. CRYING or basic makeup wipe could’ve done better. For something marketed as eye makeup remover, that’s a pretty big fail. To make matters worse, they leave your eyelids feeling like you slathered them in Crisco. Greasier than any wipe I’ve tried, and not in a nourishing way—just straight-up pore-clogging. I wouldn’t be shocked if they caused those little sebum pearls. Pads are flimsy and paper-thin. Nice scent, sure, but that’s the only point in their favor. I’m returning and switching to micellar pads.
