The concept of the book is great - I love the author's aspiration to teach girls (or anyone) about being careful about what goes through their mind, and the great wisdom that God's Word has on this subject. My daughter enjoys the little anecdotes that are supplied to make it relevant to tween life. Like other reviews noted, it has sort of a punchy, hip approach, and each short lessons is punctuated with takeaway points. I like that there is a section for her to write her own thoughts on what she heard.But it's engagement is rather superficial, and there isn't much depth, nor encouragement to dig a lot deeper. Sometimes platitudes get in the way of the development of an idea, and the "sound-byte" approach leaves me wondering what the lesson is really trying to get across. I've run across sentences that are awkwardly phrased, and others that are theologically questionable, (e.g. the idea that people are able to be "good" on their own, by will power, and the idea that our actions - sinful or obedient - are the deciding factor in our salvation).I'm continuing to use it for now, and doing my own editing as I read it aloud to her, or explaining where there may be issues in the ideas presented here.I just think that such a rich idea could have been better developed for young women. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I just ordered my second copy of this wonderful book.
