The reviews recommended using the analog stereo audio outputs instead of HDMI ...
Just bought this for my wife's birthday and she loves it!At first I was concerned about mic sound delay after reading some reviews. The reviews recommended using the analog stereo audio outputs instead of HDMI for the sound. I'm using HDMI for video and analog stereo for sound. Even after doing that there was still a slight delay. So I tried putting my Yamaha A/V receiver in "direct mode" which turns off all signal processing and sure enough zero mic delay! Direct doesn't sound quite as good as the 7.1 stereo DSP mode, so I started checking my receiver settings and found that lip-sync was turned on by default. Turning off lip-sync makes a world of difference! Now it working great, a good balance between good sound and very minimal mic delay. Now on to the actual karaoke/videoke part. There are a ton of songs, mostly in english and a lot of tagalog songs and a few (50 or less ) K-pop songs. The selection of songs is pretty good. What I think is very cool is the ability to use a USB thumb drive or SD card and play your own songs/videos. I was able to download a bunch of karaoke songs/videos on Youtube and play it on the Grand Videoke! Works great, the only downside is that song "scoring" only works for the built in songs and not songs on the USB/SD card.Overall I'm very happy with the purchase, even more important is my wife is happy :)

VS. SINGTRIX
One word: SINGTRIX... My wife bought the Singtrix first, but before we opened it, I bought this one thinking it was better. Well, after playing with it for 30 minutes or so, it went back in the box and we kept the Singtrix. So here are my pros and cons for the Grand Videoke Symphony 2.0 vs Singtrix:Pros:- Wireless is good, and sounds good- Comes with two mics- Very portableCons:- Microphones feel cheap IMO. Singtrix mics are much more substantial.- You're limited to the songs that come loaded in the unit, and add-on packs are expensive. With the Singtrix, if you search for pretty much any song on YouTube, you will find it.- The background animated dancers are really annoying IMO, and it's difficult to change (at least not easily configured in the menu or if even possible). With Singtrix, you get whatever background that comes in the YouTube video which adds some nice variation to the whole experience.- All the songs are typical karaoke computer tones/digitized which don't sound even close to original IMHO. With Singtrix, you play straight off YouTube, where the songs are of much better quality for karaoke IMO.- A sound system is required. Singtrix comes with its own speaker, but I don't really consider this a big con because we'd probably have it hooked up to a sounds system anyway.- The price is double compared to Singtrix! So two stars for 'didn't like it'.

This was a little pricey, yet a very nice system. Wife is a Philippina and love the displays and voice commands to find her favorite songs.

Great sound great mic
Superb mic. Would've been nice if there's an ability to make multiple favorites- for different song types

It's horrible..
It's horrible.... I'm thinking of calling my bank and asking them to credit me back my account. The box is not sealed and I've paid $568 on it? And then the batteries you've included in it seems to be unbranded and overheated both microphones in just 30 minutes of use.

The product did not come with instructions. You have to guess which songs in the song book are included in the built in package and which you have to buy. It scores low and I could do without the embarrassing commentary at the end of each song since I don't want to embarrass my guests but again, it doesn't come with instructions. You have to guess how to operate this thing.
