Signature Elite ES50 Tower Speaker, Single, Stunning Black

This compact floor speaker provides great sound for its size and price. I love the cabinet design with the smooth rounded edges, padded feet, bottom port vent, and availability in white. I only wish the grill was available in white fabric to match the cabinet. The floor port vent helps to deliver deeper bass. High and mid frequency sound is very good and the lower frequency is a solid good; great considering the size of the woofers. For the money, size, sound, and aesthetics, this speaker is hard to beat. Looking to buy a second pair of the same or next larger size.

Big step up from my tv's speakers, as you would expect. I liked the dark wood as this worked better in my room and the step up in quality. I have heard the Polk doesn't always do the best job in insulating their speakers. These sound very good to my ears, so not planning on repacking them or taking them apart. They are 8ohm which was important to me as I'm using them with an old school Kenwood 90 watt amp. Would bookshelf speakers be better? Maybe. But then I would need a bookshelf. These snuggle nicely with my tv and put the drivers at the right height. Not too big. Just right.

Sound great to me. Have more bass than I expected. Look really good as well.

Can produce some nice lows, but on the higher end, it's a little bright for my ears. Do sound good at higher volumes.

Excellent speakers, for radio it is not necessary a subwoofer, just for tracks with sounds below 50 Hz. Up from this frequency it’s not appreciable an audible difference. The treble and medium frequencies are so clear and loud. I really recommend these speakers….

These speakers performed well beyond my expectations. And I am more than satisfied with their quality and performance. Worth every penny!

I've had big JBL front speakers for over a decade, with 10" mains, but they're way too big for my new apartment. So I got these Polks (I already had them for surrounds and center). They sound amazing, bass is certainly less than the larger plates but the overall balance is better I think and there's still plenty of bass when warranted (Swamp Song by Tool is always a good test track). I am super happy with these.

Got a pair of these on prime day for $275 each.Top end to bottom sounds good for 2 channel music.I have the Polk ES30 center and a Klipsch sub I enable from my Yamaha reciever for movies.You may want to get the ES60 for a big room but I have these in a 14'×15' room and it fills the room nicely.Streaming Amazon music through my amp to a WiiM Mini sounds excellent.

Instalé un par de bocinas ES50 a un amplificador Yamaha R-S202, y utilizo una tornamesa Sony ps-lx310bt para reproducir discos de vinilo,y un reproductor de cd genérico conectado a mi computadora. Todas las conexiones son alámbricas bo uso Bluetooth para evitar la compresión de sonido. En ambos caso el sonido de este par de bocinas es muy bueno. La fidelidad es impresionante, se escuchan claramente todos los instrumentos. El balance entre najps y agudos es casi perfecto, no tengo que hacer ajustes en el amplificador. Creo que por el precio y la calidad valen la pena.

Habe sie jetzt ein paar Monate. Bin sehr zufrieden. Klingen detailliert in Höhen, Mitten und Tiefen. Hatte vorher 90er-Jahre-Boxen, die auch nicht schlecht waren, vor allem in den hohen Frequenzen, die hatten zwei sehr starke Hochtöner. Aber im Bass hat mir etwas die Sätte und Tiefe gefehlt, wobei es mir nicht um einen fetten Wummerbass ging, sondern um tiefen und präzisen Bass, der ist mir für meine Musikrichtungen (Jazz, Klassik, anspruchsvoller Rock) ebenso wichtig wie kristallklare Höhen. Beides liefern die Polk in jedem Fall, zumindest in meiner Kombi mit dem Yamaha A-S301; Bass leicht über die Mitte und die hohen Frequenzen auf volle Pulle gedreht - dann bin ich zufrieden mit dem Sound. Für die schlanke Größe und den niedrigen Preis super Leistung. Mal zum Vergleich: Ich hatte auch mal die Standlautsprecher von Klipsch, der vergleichbaren Ami-Marke, zum Probehören da. Die hab ich eigentlich nur wegen der Größe zurückgeschickt. Sind etwas doppelt so teuer, was ich auch noch in Ordnung finde, und dafür klingen sie vielleicht noch etwas angriffslustiger durch die noch stärkeren Höhen aufgrund der Horntechnik; finden manche vielleicht zu schrill/hell. Beide Modelle sind Zweiwegesysteme, die Klipsch fabrizieren den Bassreflex zur Wand hin und benötigen dadurch zur Wand auch etwas mehr Abstand. Die Polk arbeiten den Bass nach unten zum Boden und kommen mit weniger Platz zur Wand aus. Da wo ich sie in meinem nicht so großen Wohnzimmer stehen habe, sind sie platzmäßig einfach super und auch ein eleganter Hingucker. Wer mehr Platz hat und bereit ist, ca. Tausend Euro auszugeben, kann ja über Klipsch mal nachdenken. Ich bin auch mit den Polk sehr happy, höre im Tiefbassbereich jetzt Detaills, die ich vorher nicht wahrgenommen hab. Lerne Manche Alben von mir neu kennen. Und freue mich jedes Mal, wenn ich die schicken Teile sehe. Sollte man ohne Abdeckung aufstellen, sieht geiler aus und lässt den feinsten Frequenzen freien Lauf. Kurz: Kaufempfehlung!!

La construcción de este altavoz de torre es sólida, pesada y aparentemente duradera. Las rejillas son magnéticas. Los acabados son buenos, contemporáneos y a mi parecer agradable a la vista con las esquinas redondeadas. En la cuestión acústica. A mi apreciación generan una imagen sonora central, con un escenario sonoro espacioso qué debe rondar por lo menos los +-50° en horizontal, en el plano vertical es aceptable, sin embargo, opino que el mayor nivel de detalle es con el twitter a la altura del oído y dado qué son unas torres pequeñas eso solo es posible estando sentado. Ese impresionante escenario sonoro esta coadyuvado por unos graves claros, precisos y contundentes para el tamaño de este altavoz. ¿Sera la gracia de la tecnología "power port"? Quizás. En mi caso, con la características de mi sala (piso de losetas) no detecto resonancias extrañas producidas por el puerto. También tengo un par del modelo Es30 estas si generan resonancias molestas debido al puerto. En las imágenes puedes observar las ES30 sobre las torres (ver reseña en ese Modelo). Volviendo a los graves de las torres ES50, dan incluso la sensación de ser suficientes para música, (un subwoofer siempre va bien) y que a diferencia de otros altavoces de otras marcas (por ejemplo cualquier torre Jamo) no son exagerados ni retumbantes, ni pretenden impresionar a la primera a cualquier incauto con unos graves inflados. En cambio, las ES50 producen graves ricos en su justa medida. Cabe aclarar que estos graves se van perdiendo a medida que el tamaño de la sala va creciendo. Una habitación pequeña o mediana le van mejor a estos altavoces. En cuanto a los medios en términos generales son buenos y puedes escuchar los detalles en este rango de frecuencias aceptablemente. Los medios bajos son buenos y se sienten "punchy", por ejemplo es agradable escuchar los golpes de la batería. Solo un detalle, hay una sección en la frecuencia de medios (no se exactamente en que Hz) qué esta un poco retraída de modo que en algunas canciones, me gustaría que tuviera más ataque y direccionalidad, pero nada serio. En relación a los agudos, los altavoces al principio me parecieron brillantes. Pero una vez transcurrido el periodo de asentamiento o "break-in" estos se suavizaron y el sonido se tornó más equilibrado. De cualquier modo basta un pequeño ajuste en el equalizador para atenuar con éxito estas frecuencias. A pesar de que estas torres las utilizó en un sistema multicanal con otros 4 altavoces más. De vez en cuando utilizo el "pure mode" estéreo para escuchar solo estos altavoces. Me gusta mucho su sonido, que sin ser perfectos. Agradan tanto como su precio. Esta reseña es exclusivamente mi opinión, subjetiva y tiene el propósito de generar un panorama de como suenan estos altavoces.

I like the Polk stuff, started with a pair of es20 speakers and later added the es50 and es35 speakers to my setup. The 50s sound great but I would definitely think the 55 or 60 are worth the extra money. I got the 50s on a great sale though and they sound great!
