Good damper, works well, allows dryer to still blow out air.
Nice damper for dryer, keeping the cold air out which helps the overall temps in the room.

Little plastic flaps on vent fans and on roof vent are NOT enough
Little plastic flaps on vent fans and on roof vent are NOT enough to stop wind from sucking air out of your house. When a medium wind goes over my house, I can feel and hear the wind lifting the plastic / thin metal flap andsucking the air out of the room. The reason I know this is because these are the fans that were installed before I discovered the Backdraft Damper Shutter. Those fans "leak" (/Back draft) alot of air.Now when I install any fan ( 4", 6" vent), I install one of these Backdraft Damper Shutter and it works great.

Just.works.period.
Wow, what a difference this simple change made! When I first removed the dryer exhaust pipe I could feel cold air pouring in from the outside. Slipped this in and the airflow was immediately cut by 95%. My laundry room is now noticeably warmer. I checked after a month and no lint build up. The only think that irks me is that I didn't put this in years ago!

Easy install with foil tape.
Nice damper. Works great for my dryer exhaust system. Hoping to keep some cold air out of my dryer vent exhaust. Seems to help a bit. Def will keep critters out, not that I ever had a problem before… but nice in the Winter time to reduce cold air infiltration.

No more cold air
I felt cold air under the microwave when it was 30° out. Slipped this unit in and at even zero degree outside temperature I feel absolutely no cold air.

Nice piece
I put this damper in a horizontal run of 6" duct for a range hood. It fits right inside of standard 6" metal duct. I taped it place with aluminum tape and all is good. Because it's in a horizontal duct, it just needs to be oriented with the pivot shaft vertical, so the flaps will swing properly. It opened just fine with the range hood on low, and closed positively against the gasket that surrounds the opening when the fan is off.

It's good
Only thing I could wish for is to have the spring be a bit lighter. But it works well.

Tight seal
I have used this type of damper from other manufacturers and they are not all built the same. This one has well balanced tension on the spring to allow for free airflow yet closes pretty tight to prevent backflow. Some I have used either have springs that have too much tension and do not open easily without a good amount of air pressure and / or don't seal very well when closed allowing a lot of backflow air leakage. It does not pay to go cheap on an inline damper. This unit is a good balance of quality and price.
