I purchased the serrated version and to say this knife is worth the price I paid just isn’t fair! I would've paid double or more and it would be worth every penny. This knife is great quality so I’m probably going to pick up a couple of the other models. I’ve owned Opinels and while I can’t speak to how well this will hold up over time, I anticipate it will be right there as long as the other go-to’s. This knife was incredibly well packaged. The only gripe I have is that it took a solid 30 days from order to arrival. Not sure what happened there but in the current trade climate, who knows. It was well worth the wait. Great piece of camping gear that has already earned a spot in my home kitchen too.

Aesthetically pleasing to look at. Comes well packaged with a cleaning cloth, a little burlap bag. A thank you note with instructions on how to close the knife, which is important cause I did not see it and had to figure this one out. Sharp right outta the box! Great value and the blade seems to be durable. Not so good, is that it is bulky for MY hand, and a bit heavy. Worried about the long term durability of the wooden handle, with washing. I try and avoid prolong exposure to water, and I dry off immediately. It is not a pocket knife by any means This knife was purchased for my camping kitchen, but I find myself using it beyond that. I do recommend

Pros: design, sleek, good weight, weighing at 140 grams, good hand grip, good balance; stamped Rostfrei (rust-free in German) 440A (at least this is not the Chinese foundry steel for most knives sold on Amazon) Pros and Cons: 440A. At the expense of low carbon content, this is a soft steel (HRC ~ 57) with high chromium content to achieve high degree of stainlessness. Some will like the stainless quality. But knife enthusiasts would rather opt for a high carbon not so stainless steel blade for hardness (HRC 60+) hence edge retention and sharpness. 440A is for the amateurs. Overall this is an attractive design. I am a wood enthusiast, paying a premium for the real olive wooden handle offered by the brand Senbon. They carry four varieties. I bought the bread knife for the serrated edge (4.05 " long), long enough to 'saw' cut a thin baguette, not long enough to cut a regular loaf. But this is supposed to be for camping use anyway. There are three other varieties: the Nikiri (a western Japanese style broad blade veggie knife); a Santoku (medium sized multi-purpose Japanese knife); and a petty knife. The only evidence of origin of manufacture is a singular Chinese character. I believe this is Made In China. There is a similar brand called Zhengsheng which basically offers exactly the same knives as Senbon except that it is $7 less costly than Senbon. They offer a hard wood handle. So I am paying a 7 bucks premium just for the olive wood. I am OK with it.

Exactly as advertised; I was worried about it being too small, but it actually was significantly bigger than I expected. Seems to be a quality item, certainly higher quality than it needs to be for it's given purpose. Comes with a cute little bag and a cleaning cloth. Has a nice strong handle and a thick blade. The overall impression is one of sturdiness.
