Can this be used outdoors? Is it waterproof? How long does the battery last?

Mine is on the garage service door, somewhat protected from rain by overhang but definitely outdoors. Batteries life depends on number of uses; mine gets used a half dozen times a day and lasts a year or more.

Is the Keypad silent or does it make sounds when pressed? If yes, can it be muted?

Yes makes a little noise, I didn’t investigate if can be silent

Can the automatic locking mechanism be turned off so the door knob can be manually opened from outside indefinitely ?

You can use the lock without batteries but once the door closes you need to use the key to open great lock 10/10

I have tried to program an entry code and it does beep twice, the the back light goes out and does not come back on, what should I do?

Charge the lock and then it should operate properly.
