great luggage; in danger of being discontinued?
I have had the two-wheeled twin Flite predecessor for years and have loved it. I bought this because I needed a second bag and this only comes as a spinner now. I don't like spinners because the four protruding wheels tend to catch on things but otherwise this is just as good as and otherwise identical to its two-wheeled Flite forerunner. Anyway, in a world awash with soft-sided, either unlocked or weakly lockable spinners, this bag, which doesn't even appear on the Samsonite website at this time (is it being discontinued?), is one of a vanishing breed and has the following advantages. It is hard-sided propylene, hence more rugged and tamper/knife/sharp-edge-resistant. It has a combination lock for you and a keyed lock for TSA. And it is weather/water-proof since the closure uses rubber gaskets. Good for luggage left out in the rain. Note that zippered luggage can be flimsy with regard to shear forces since the two halves are connected by just a flimsy zipper. This Samsonite luggage is rigid/sturdy with regard to the application of all forces. And there are plenty of videos on youtube that show how trivially easy it is to force open the zipper closure with just a ball point pen, rummage around, and then zip it back up with no-one the wiser -- until you open your luggage later and find something missing. No need to cut the zipper cloth -- just unzip it! Obviously the Flite does not have this vulnerability. Also it is light compared to aluminum hard-sides. So, encourage malefactors to go after easier targets by using this luggage. So, all in all, the best luggage available, IMO, and in a distinct minority. Just buy it while it can be bought.

Perfect luggage
I purchased three of these over six years ago. My family and I have traveled by air with these in several international destinations. Theyโve been tossed into rental cars, shuttles and hotels from the Cook Islands to Iceland and are still as good as the day we got them! Zero broken parts. Perfect luggage! Gorilla tough Samsonite

Great durable suitcase
Love this suitcase. This is my second one. It is a basic no-frills case. If you want lots of pockets - this is not the suitcase for you. Hard plastic shell prevents me from going over the weight limit since there is no give. No zipper on this suitcase - which I like. Three clasps to close. Main clasp has an easy to set 3 digit combination. Locking clasp allows me to secure items in the case at hotels when I am not in the room. I have used this suitcase for US and international travels with no issues.

True Gem
Oh, it is a tank and the material is different then most hard suitcase. However, it did the job perfectly. There is no lining, which I ended up liking as I use luggage bags. I am very pleased with this purchase. On my prior trip, my suitcase (made from a different company but it was more rubber texture) was completely cracked on the 1st trip used.

Great capacity, very secure, fairly sturdy, stands out in the baggage area
I've used this twice for overseas travel and I like it a lot. Apparently United Airlines uses the old gorilla-with-American-Tourister commercials for training their baggage handlers, so I acquired a long, deep scratch and assorted scuffs, but the travel bag is still very sound. In comparison with other hard-shell cases, this one seems thicker and sturdier. The lock and clamps performed quite well. I bought some compression cubes and actually prefer that this case has no liner, just a simple divider for the top. Even though it's sturdy, I recommend packing it fairly tightly to help the sides stand up to heavy weights being stacked on top at the airport. The only concern I have is that the handle now seems a bit loose at full extension, but that may just be breaking in. In any event, I do recommend this bag.

All around best suitcase/luggage for traveling (especially by airlines) domestically or internationally.
Absolute great luggage. Bought two. One for me and one for my wife. Tested on our trip to Rome and Florence Italy from the U.S. Best features: 1) Excellent overall design with more thoughtful and very useful features that you will continue to discover as you travel, 2) Designed to be useful for all airlines in the U.S. (with TSA locks and other features). 3) Light weight. 4) Sturdy construction. Highly recommended.

Samsonite Rules
The TSA broke my old Samsonite, purchased in the 90's, that had gone all around the world with me. Scratched up, but totally intact to this day like an old friend. Recently, the TSA started breaking into it and broke one of the locks, looking for drugs or weapons on me: a little 70 year lady. They kept leaving nasty notes in my underwear and wet bathing suits admonishing me for not having the "correct" suitcase. So I gave in and got this one. Nothing fancy about it, just as rugged as my old one, but with updated locks AND WHEELS! Smooth and easy. I expect it will last the rest of my life.

Best suitcase I ever used
This is by far the best suitcase I have ever used. No zippers to break or get broken into. The combination lock is so easy to set and change. It has a water seal, so no more wet clothes from rain. Rolls like a dream and the adjustable handle has multiple lock settings it is actually fun to use on escalators. This bag was so worth the price, we are getting a second one for my wife.

Light weight and more secure than most
This is a great product, light weight, strong and far more secure than zippered luggage. The handle seems solid and the wheels are very maneuverable. For some reason, the red one we bought cost way more than the same unit in black. I would rate the black one 5 stars for value.

Reliable, rugged and light
I have 3 of these and I am impressed with the quality, price, light weight and ruggedness. I had a wheel damaged by a carrier, nothing to do with the manufacturing, and hope to have it replaced soon

Great suitcase. Could be made to look less plastic-y for this price
First impression is that the suitcase appears very plastic-y, but after use it is quite apparent that the shell is much thicker and stronger than other hard shell suitcases and this stands up to abuse much better. The wheels and handle are good quality. I was a bit disappointed at first that the inside of the case doesn't have a fabric liner, but then realized there aren't a bunch of seams inside to cover up like there would be in a fabric suitcase; the lack of liner actually means its easier to clean if you get a shampoo bottle explode or something. Note that the colour in the Amazon picture makes it look like hot pink; it is actually firetruck red. You can see the correct colour on the manufacturer's website.

Durable and value for money
I love Samsonite brands. I use it for more than 20 years with no problem and need more for my family. This one is really nice.. durable, light weight, easy to clean ^^

Useless - didn't even last one trip! Zero stars.
The plastic cracked open around one of the wheels on its first plane trip. The luggage was not overweight or overloaded in any way. As far as I know it was not subjected to anything out of the ordinary for a piece of luggage on a domestic flight. I now have a $200 pile of junk and have to go and find another piece of luggage before my next trip. To add insult to injury is Samsonite's warranty. They do not stand behind their products and have a clause that absolves them of any responsibility should your baggage not survive the PURPOSE IT WAS INTENDED FOR. I no longer trust the Samsonite name and will never buy another of their products. I really wanted to like this luggage, I really did. A affordable hard-side with no zippers is difficult to find. Even if it hadn't broken though, the luggage is nothing to write home about. No lining, and the divider is flimsy with a tiny useless pocket. The clasps holding it shut on the sides have a locking mechanism that is a pain to turn.
