Awesome & Efficient!
I just installed this product and it’s working great. The install on this product was pretty simple and took me about 30min, mainly due to the old lever handle being problematic/stripping when trying to take it off + me being overly cautious so as to not damage anything during the install. It’s working seamlessly now and it’s pretty awesome/shocking to see how much less later is needed and used on the quick-flush (liquids) setting – The “up to 70% less water” claim is definitely accurate. Below are some additional observations/recommendations: 1. NOTE that this specific product does NOT include a fill valve (not an issue for me, as I replaced the fill valve a year ago and the product works great with it). 2. I’d recommend YouTube for install instructions, as what I found and used was on point and easily understood even though it included the Danco Fill Valve and instructions therein. 3. The flush converter base was the only thing that threw me off during the install, as it was difficult to have a point of reference for a “snug fit”. I took it off and put it back on a few times before realizing that it was on correctly ( wasn’t sure how much the blue rubber piece should depress into the tank hole, but after some checking, I realized that it had dropped in fine). 4. I tested including 4-sheets of toilet paper with the quick flush, for obvious reasons, and they went down fine.

Pluses and Minuses.
There's positives and negatives with this product first I have purchase several of these because of the design. All newer toilet tanks fill with less water, about half the volume of older toilet tanks, the reason obviously for conservation and environmental purposes. So the more gallons in the tank the easier it was for waste goes down, which is why I replace all my toilets with this design. The water from a conventional flap value exits from the side when the flap raises, this type lets the water drop so it has more force to pull waste down. That for me was a big positive, since my kids throw everything down the toilet from to much toilet paper to a 2 man deep sea diving bell. On the negative side, I think this is overprice, about 3 times the cost of the side flap design. And this is here's a biggie, this will not work with tanks where the handle mounts on the front because the handle in this kit protrudes out to far and the toilet seat hits it and eventually marking/denting the toilet seat. It works with handles that are mounted on the side of the tank. I've purchased both the handle design and the button design, the handle pulls easy and the dual flush works good. The button design is very hard to push especially when your on the toilet and reaching back, I don't see how younger kids have enough strength to push the button design. On the positive side it's very easy to install. Like I mentioned this is expensive but maybe that's why they call it "the throne".

Don't like the button? Upgrade to this! New to dual flush? Get this, not the 270.
I originally installed the HYR270 model (green cable, split button flush) while also replacing my fill valve. Installation was easy, in fact it took longer to adjust the water level than to actually install the unit. We tried working with the button for a couple of weeks, but found it was hard to push and it also hid behind the toilet lid, so that made it awkward to use. I bought the BlueSource HYR270 HydroRight Drop-in Dual Flush Converter by MJSI in 2010 but I wasn't sure it would fit and never got around to installing it until last month when the fill valve went on the toilet, and I had to make repairs anyway. I pulled the trigger and upgraded to this model. The split handle is MUCH easier to use than the split button, and it doesn't hide behind the lid anymore. The other great thing is that the 270 and 271 both appear to use the same bottom portion, so I did not have to reinstall the entire unit, just the upper portion and the handle. So far the full flush works perfectly, we're still tweaking the half flush (I think I need to lower the blue float a bit more is all). No leaks and a much better overall feel to the very cool dual flush system.

Help save water. Good price. Very reliable
This is the second one of these I bought for the same toilet. Really work well. The first one failed after many years so no problem considering the price.

not worth in a long run
Worked for a year, then started leaking and then stopped flushing. Lever keep coming off the rear. Keep fixing it.

Danco HYR271T Hydroright Dual Flush Valve And Lever Handle
This "Danco HYR271T Hydroright Dual Flush Valve And Lever Handle" is an excellent and easy replacement for the traditional standard 'Flush / flapper" valve. It's very easy and clean to install, and easy to adjust for water level flushes. I purchased this to replace a leaky flapper valve, and it installed, adjusted and functions perfectly, and also solved my problem. Since it worked so well for the problem, I've ordered another one to install in our second bathroom to help conserve water with the 'dual flush level' feature. I can easily recommend this 'dual level flush' valve assembly for anyone who needs to fix a 'flush valve' problem or who wants to save water during flushes.

Worked Well 5+Years, But Replacement Cost is for Full System, Not Just the Part I Needed
I purchased three of these in the hopes that it would significantly reduce water usage. I think early on they probably did reduce usage somewhat, but when you have family members that always want a "full flush", then that's a problem. Also, reading the instructions I was able to eventually figure out how to adjust the valve for longer or shorter flushes, so that helped some, but my biggest problem is that just like the legacy valves, over time they leak, but instead of a cheaper replacement solution, I would have to purchase another full system, when all I need is the valve piece that fits over the tank drain. So yeah, going back to the legacy style, which have seemed to be a bit improved over the years.

Not enough product details. I would not have bought it if I would have read the product installation and troubleshooting leaflets. Poor packaging. There was a small spring lose in the box, and it took half an hour to figure out where it should fit. The blue dome gasket did not seat properly the older ‘American Standard’ flush valve opening, which had to be replaced at extra cost and work. Flimsy attachment of the flush valve with a zip tie. Not so easy to install. Took time to adjust properly. Poor leaflets, fine print and only in imperial measurements. The text is not clear.

Rated for initial use vs durability as I've had it in operation for just a few months now. Works well. I will add that we retrofitted an older large American Standard and the small flush on the maximum setting doesn't always result in a complete flush (70% complete - 30% incomplete). I highly suspect it is due to the legacy toilet. Those with the older larger toilets beware, not that it is a deal-breaker. Other than that, it works 100% and seems it will be durable enough. Also as a side note, if you have to use the install shim you might have to turn the shim somewhat to get the device to sit straight and not leak. I would suggest Danco increase that small flush max setting a tad. The toilet itself is perfectly fine and should last another few decades. The thought of replacing to circumvent what is an easily-solved issue seems outlandish.
