I personally love the Wella Color Fresh Mask in Golden Gloss. Over the years I have colored my hair on many occasions. This has caused a lot of damage and breakage, especially recently. Due to the porosity of my hair, and the weakness over many years of going from brunette to blonde and everything in between, the way my hair absorbed color became uneven, dull, and lead to a generally disappointing result. The last time I colored my hair blonde at home, I was truly pleased with the top part of my hair. The healthy part. The color I used was fantastic and the shade did indeed turn out a golden blonde. However, the damaged portion of my hair, which had become lifeless over the last several months, was no longer cooperating. The color was a completely different shade of ash blonde which was almost blue. Due to the unfortunate state of my hair, I was too afraid to put any more color on it in fear of losing my hair completely and ending up with a shaggy chemical cut. This was the first time I had taken things too far. I suddenly remembered that I had previously used a Wella Color Fresh Mask in a different shade, which at the time matched my copper hair. Remembering how much I loved how it turned out, the minimal effort it took, and how easy it was to keep up with, I took the step and placed the order. Once I received it, I followed the directions (not always the case for me) and applied the Golden Gloss to only the parts of my hair which had the ashy tone. Truth be told, my hair was so reluctant to take part in this activity, that I did indeed have to rinse it off, and reapply one more time. Given that this product is so easy on the hair, I was able to do this right away. After the second application and seeing the result upon blow drying, I was ecstatic. My hair was a golden hue all over. It literally made the difference in my confidence level, and that changes everything. Little by little, my hair is becoming restored, and I am careful to use products which no longer cause irreversible damage. Wella Color Fresh Masks are it for me when it comes to shifting the tone of the hair or just brightening up the color. Great product, and many shades to choose from.

Girls, for you. I’m a mousy blonde/light brown getting highlights. Can’t really afford this specific month to get a touch up as i just moved and got quoted 400 bucks, so no. Grown out roots 3-4 months. Porous slavic hair, very quick to wash out colour, not a single kink very very straight. Currently quite damaged. Colour: Golden Gloss Applied to test strand, thought it did nothing, held one strand for 10 min one for 30min. over all i was like okay well it’s not going green that’s good okay let’s go. Applied to full head including roots. goal was to blend it and make it less noticeable of a shift in colour between dyed and natural. Held for 30 minutes. Washed out and here is the result. To me, it looks very warm and almost with a slight rosy tint. Leans rosy not orange brassy. While i would in an ideal world go for a cooler tone, i don’t think i’d recommend going darker. My previous experience i had was with the Glaze products. it turned my hair GREEN. fully green tinted. DO NOT DO THAT on colored highlighted hair. it’s not for us. Glaze was awful. i had to cut off to a bob to grow it out. Overall i was very worried this product would do the same, but nope i survived. Do i love it for this rosy warm tint, no. Do i love the softness and the effect that it had to make it more unified? yes. do test patches. photo 1: before (in pink top) photo 2: same lighting as photo 1 photo 3: different lighting (that’s where i see the pinkness) goodluck!

This mask was easy to use and left my hair feeling soft, smooth, and shiny. The golden gloss added a subtle warm tone without making my hair feel dry or heavy. It’s a nice option for refreshing your hair between color treatments. I would use it again

Wear gloves. I have bronde hair with balayage and grays. I've used this mask twice now. Both times I left it in for the full 10 minutes, targeting my grays first, then working through my ponytail. I combed the whole thing out to ensure consistent coverage, and then piled my hair on top of my head while I waited. The first time I was very happy with the golden blonde look that resulted but I didn't shampoo or condition afterwards, and I didn't like how my hair felt. It was rough in texture and felt weighted down. The color lasted about one week. Note that it will tone your grays but not 'cover' them, and they will return to silver in a couple of days. The second time I used the mask, I did everything the same but I shampooed and conditioned afterwards. My hair texture was much improved, smoother and while the shampoo took up a bit of the color, I am much happier with the results. The only reason I am giving this four stars is because of the strong perfume scent and that I wish they made a slightly ashier blonde version. Shampooing after application helped to minimize the fragrance. The color is very pretty but it is warm-toned and not every balayage blonde is going to want that. I was tired of spending so much money and time at the salon for a gloss only to have it wash out in a week. I'm glad I tried this as it will become part of my maintenance routine.

I tried this color and although it was subtle it did work. I tried the off label technique of putting it on dry hair and letting it sit for 30 minutes before rinsing, then I added some conditionor and went on with my day. At first I found the smell a bit strong but it went away after few minutes. It was thick and easy to apply, I wore gloves and used my fingers to apply it generously to my hair and I can see if I didn't it would have stained my hands. It didn't damage my hair at all and my hair feels the same as before I used it. I'm hoping it lasts but I think if I keep using it it will deposit more color on my hair each time and cover the grays even more. I also decided to try a darker color to see if I get more coverage.

This color did not cover or even tint my grays. I've used it twice now. First time as the directions suggested and I also used on clean dry hair and had the same result. The first photo is after using product a second is before. This product did leave my hair feeling soft and had a pleasant smell.

I have saloon highlights that ended up way too light for me, nearly white. Based on the great reviews I thought this would work well to warm them up and make them look more natural. I followed the instructions on the package. After rinsing and drying my hair, I was elated with the results. After 1 wash, I was a bit disappointed that the color had rinsed out quite a bit. After 2 washes, it appears to have never had happened. Waste of money, sadly.

Ai suggested this to me in Golden Gloss. Why? My hair had turned out too ashy on the lengths after I had switched from a level 7N to a level 7A permanent hair color. I wanted to bring back some of the warmth I got from 7N (my hair naturally pulls golden-red). Ai told me to use this for just 5 minutes, not 10 as per the tube's instructions since I'd been using permanent color for years. I am thrilled that in just 5 minutes it did indeed bring back some warmth! Even though this mask is pricey, it saved me a ton of money going to a salon to fix my overly-ashy hair. Interestly, Ai told me to use it just once per week and that next week I should just keep it on 1-2 minutes so I don't go TOO warm or coppery for my liking. Is it the most moisturizing hair mask I've ever used on my fine, naturally curly 3A hair? Nope, but my hair did feel conditioned.

Amazing! Attached is before and after. For a ‘Golden’ gloss, it really toned down my yellow tones from an unfortunate salon visit. A great at home fix! I have thick hair and will get 2 uses out of one bottle.

Very good wish I’d found this sooner saves a lot of time. Refreshes colour in minutes.

Used Golden Gloss. My grey is a very cold icy silver and dark grey. Very aging for me, but I'm done with block colour. I was looking for something non permanent that would just warm it through a little. I'm absolutely over the moon with the colour, very subtle on my dark grey bringing a warmer tone and has picked up some of the red I used to naturally have... so happy about that. The very white silver at the front and through the top has warmed into a light warm blonde. So very happy with the results. This will now be a a solid addition to my hair care routine.😊
